"When Cupid Made Fun of Me"

It all started with a word of mouth:

One time, a friend of him Del, approached me and said, “you know what? My friend Jero told me that you are his ideal woman and If he decides to marry someday, he is going to marry you. I just laughed at what she was saying and said, “what? Are you kidding me?”  “No I’m not.” she answered while smiling at me.  I just laughed, shook my head and walked away. And she shouted at my back, “Mag-antay ka lang, he is going to court you”. Really? Hahahah, that’s one of the most impossible thing I’ve ever heard in my life. I replied while smiling back at Del. 

Delly and Jero are friends for a number years, they are quite close to each other for they are also working in the same department. I am not really close with them that’s why I was taken aback of the things Del had told me. I know Jero for a long time and I know his personality. He is a cream of the crowd. He is funny and everyone would miss his jokes and him if he is not around. I know that he just say things mindlessly just to make everyone laugh. For quite a few times I became a victim of his pranks before.  “Ito talagang si Jero,  ano naman kaya ang pumasok sa isip nito at pati ako na nanahimik isinali na naman sa kanyang kalokohan? “ sinabi ko sa isip ko habang umiling iling ako.

“Diday! Anong bang nangyari sa iyo? Ilang milyon ba naman ang natalo mo sa swer-tres at ganyan ka? Tulala at hindi makakain? Tsupe,Mingkay alis diyan!!! Naalimpungatan ako sa sigaw ng mama ko.

Wala Ma, may iniisip lang ako. Sagot ko kay Mama. Nang magsimula na sana akong kumain napansin ko na puro nalang kanin ang nasa harap ko. Ngek! inubos na pala ni Mingkay ang ulam ko habang nag-iisip ako.    Lumapit si Mama sa mesa at sabi “Hayan sa kakaisip mo wala kanang ulam. Buti pa ang pusa natin busog na ikaw gutom pa. Segi tuloy mo nalang yang imagination mo, mag imagine ka ng lechon para ma busog ka.”

Sa halip na magalit ako kay Mingkay natawa nalang ako sa sinabi ni mama. “ OO nga ma noh? brilliant idea!!!.” Hahahah ….

Minsan mas masarap pillin ang pagiging loka loka  kaysa mainis ka sa buhay……
