Kessel, originally known as Xo's Eye whole Xim The Despots reign back in the Pre-Republic era was a prison world, and was home to the galaxy's largest spice mining operation under Imperial rule, slave labor was in extensive use.
During the YuuzhanVong War planet was conquered by the extra-galactic invaders.
Kessel was also rumored to be a chunk of rock from the Maw Installation before the Maw was even created. No proof has been given to this connection.

The slave gave headmaster a look he didn't like. He walked up close to the slave, human by the looks of him, grey hair,white shirt, and additional eye on his forehead.
The slave headmaster beat him up giving the slave a left hook to the face while whipping another.

"How DARE they defy me!" The main said angrily punching the wall in his cell so hard that it left a hole.
"How did I do that?" the grey-haired man questioned looking at his hands.
Seeing a pebble on the ground the old grey-haired man stretched his hand out. Nothing happened.
He did the second time. Nothing happened.
Getting angry and pissed at the same time he reached the third time and a massive hole was put shaking the asteroid briefly.
He smiled, satisfied with the success. However a woman noticed the act.
"Why, hello there." The woman said, a bit astonished.
The Grey-haired old man, taken it aback was. . . checking the features of this woman dresses like a nurse for a brief minute.
"Is there something you need, sir?" The nurse asked politely.
