Confessions

Duke reaches for the door handle but Matt grabs it first. He shoots Duke a look and they just stare at each other.
You stand there patiently, watching them.

Matt: "Oh sorry Y/N. Here you go," he says opening the door.

You and Duke enter slowly and say thank you. You can smell the pasta and the pizza, it smells wonderful. Everyone orders and then finds a table.

Duke: "I'll be right back," he says getting up and walking to the restroom.

It's just you and Matt sitting there in silence.

Matt: "Hey Y/N.. you might know this but I really, really like you."
Y/N: "Yes, I know and I don't want to talk about it right now so could we talk about it later?"
Matt: "Of course, take your time."

Duke walks back out just as the food is being served. He sits down next to you, Matt looking at Duke's hand being close to yours. You slowly move it away and grab your fork and start eating your food.

Duke: "Does anyone have anything going on?"
Matt: "Not really, just football practice. As usual. What about you Y/N?"
Duke and Matt look at you.
Y/N: "Um.. no actually. Just homework."
Duke: "Maybe we could hang out more then. I'd love to get to know you and you've always seemed cool." Duke blushes.

You notice him blushing and you nod your head yes and say "I would love to."
You all get up and leave the resturaunt.
When you get back to the dorms Duke asks you if he can come in your dorm to talk to you.

Y/N: "I actually need to talk to Matt first if that's okay. It'll be real quick."
Duke: "That's fine! Just get me in a couple of minutes."

You get Matt and take him inside the dorm.

Y/N: "So about you liking me... I actually.. like someone else.."
Matt: "Oh. Oh my gosh. Y/N I had no idea I'm so sorry! If you liked someone else I would've left you alone. Oh my gosh I'm such an idiot."
Y/N: " No no no no no no! Don't say that! You didn't know!"
Matt: "I'll just leave.."

You watch him as he leaves your dorm room. You sigh and go get Duke.
He sits down on your bed with you.

Duke: "So Y/N, about what I wanted to talk to you about..."
