One Day A continuation...
Okay I have just finished reading One Day by David Nicholls. And I loved it, but I wanted to do something with these two which doesn't have some of the things that happened at the end of the book. Also in my head when I heard about Dexter I was unaware that there was a movie being done so in my head I saw a certain Richard Armitage as Dexter... so in my head he is Dexter. This is set as they are married with Emma looking back in her notebooks about the poems she has written while she and Dex were not together and sometimes arguing. If I can say something read this book you will not be disappointed.
Chapter One: The Man That Can't Be Moved
August 2006.
Emma Morley now Mayhew, after many years of waiting looked down at her sleeping husband, he was still considered handsome even now after fifteen years of them knowing each other, she watched his rise and fall of his chest, and she wondered how it had taken them both so long to realise that they were meant for each other. Emma had never thought she would marry. Let alone get married to her best friend. Sounding like a romance novel Emma she sighed. In a funny way she wondered if while she was so resolute she would not marry that she was really waiting for him.
She brushed her short hair away from her eyes as she grabbed her dressing gown and pulled it around her. Even though Emma had been in London now for many years she still did not find it home as much as she thought she should do by now. Many of the big moments of her life had happened in this town, but maybe it was the rebel still in her still resented that she had moved to the big city.
Careful not to wake Dexter, she plodded through to her office. Where she was designated for her to continue with her writing, although when she had began writing it had always been pen to paper but as she got more involved she had brought herself a computer. This to many people now would be seen as a brick. After much berating from Dexter about the need of getting a system that actually ran correctly: he had always been one for new technology that husband of hers. He got her a laptop for Christmas and now at her desk is where it sat. Stupid thing she had sighed when she first got it.
'Look Love I had told you I would get you a computer, and you will get one, Just like you caved with the mobile'
'Dex you didn't buy me the mobile'
'I know but where would you be without it now?'
'Okay alright you were correct' Emma threw her hands up in defeat, 'You are insufferable sometimes'
'It's why you love me'
'For my sins' she smiled.

Emma sat at her desk and opened up her computer files; as much as she loved her husband his ability to be right when it came to her needed the new technology somewhat frustrated her. The computer file that was an interest to her was the one marked, Em and Dex Poetry. It was what she had been writing since she had met Dexter and one pain staking day while Dex had been away with Jasmine, she had found her book and began to type her poems out. These poems had always frustrated one of her ex's Ian; he had read them, not with her permission though. To say that Ian hated Dexter was one of the understatements of the century. He never liked the way that Emma and Dexter would have secrets, if it was looks or just experiences that he and her were never to have.
She pulled up one of the poems and began to read it:
Cat and Mouse:
I wonder if you are as ready as me
Haven't I always been?
I want you so much
I need you
