Tamaki's POV
"Ready?"Mirio asked and I nodded as I headed out, waving bye to my mom.
"So are you going to tell me where we're going now?"I asked
"Hmm...I can give you a hint...a restaurant..."He said and my eyebrow raised in suspicion.
"Okay,"I hummed as I followed Mirio, walking side by side. After a moment I felt Mirio's hand slide in mine.I blushed but wasn't to worried because there weren't many people around.Once we got to this restaurant Mirio mentioned, I realized why he was so quiet about it.It was the restaurant my dad liked to go too, I told Mirio about it a couple weeks ago but totally didn't expect him to remember it.We walked in and the heater blasted us with warmth. We saw the waiter and she was eyeing Mirio a bit to much for my liking.
"Hello, what would you two men like?"She asked and I couldn't help it, my blood froze with nervousness.
"Two seats please,"Mirio said politely.
"Would that be all handsome?"She asked driving her intention deeper into the conversation.
"Sorry but I'm taken.."He said before glancing at me, his hand slipping in mines.I blushed madly and I could tell she saw our hands and was blushing too, realizing quickly what she just did.
"I'm so sorry, I'll get those seats ready for you two..."She said before running off.
"Well that was an eventful conversation.."Mirio said his hand discreetly unlatching from mine, as he averted his gaze.
"I thought I was going to die of embarrassment.."I muttered my face still red from that awkward conversation. After a couple minutes she came back and escorted us to a private area of the restaurant where there weren't many people.
"We didn't ask for..."Mirio started before the women's head shook.
"...this is on me...as an apology for my rudeness...someone will come and serve you shortly,"She said bowing slightly and it was hard to tell if she was genuinely sorry or if this was to make sure she didn't get in trouble for trying to pick on Mirio. We settled down in the quiet atmosphere and waited for our server.
"Know what you want?"Mirio asked and I shrugged.
"Anything's fine.."I said
"Anything?"Mirio asked and I nodded."Tamaki are you mad at me?"Mirio asked and my gaze shot up to him.
"No,"I muttered.
"Then annoyed..?"Mirio suggested and I couldn't deny it.I was annoyed...really annoyed...what if next time someone try's to ask him out he doesn't say he's taken. What if...
"Tamaki...I love you.."Mirio whispered his hand grabbing mine, my gaze shot to his again and I saw the utmost of joy and happiness I'd seen in them."Why would I go for someone else when I have you as a soulmate.."Mirio said and if it wasn't for the fact that we were in a public area we would have kissed.I pursed my lips and swallowed thickly, wanting that contact.I looked around briefly before holding up the menu and facing it next to us as I kissed him.Any outsider wouldn't be able to see it but we knew what we were doing.I kissed Mirio my eyes closing slightly but open enough to see Mirio's eyes widen, surprised at my initiation.Mirio kissed back swiftly and it took everything not to get into a heavy make out session. We pulled away a delicate string of saliva the only remaining contact between us as we parted.
"Damn,"Mirio growled before wiping away the saliva sticking to his lip."Your good at that,"He purred and for a moment I really wanted to kiss him again, but the waiter came up and asked what we wanted.Mirio ordered sandwiches and salads. And we chose to also get some lemonade.
"So where do you wanna go next?"Mirio asked and I paused before getting an idea.
"How about the movies, that should be fun,"I said and Mirio nodded.
"It's decided then that's what we'll do!!"Once we were finished we walked over to the closest movie theater.
"Think you can wait out here?I didn't plan this ahead of time so I'm going to need to pay for the tickets,"Mirio said and I nodded, knowing that under the wrong circumstances we would be waiting for an hour or more, especially if the tickets are sold out.I leaned against the wall and tried not to grab anyone's attention as I waited.I glanced up as I heard footsteps come closer to me.I saw three boys and they looked familiar...and not in a good way. They were some former bullies and it didn't look like they were here to reminisce over fond memories.
"If it isn't Tamaki Amajiki,"One of them said, smirking and I could tell I wasn't going to get out of this without some bruises.I looked away quickly hoping they wouldn't do anything else.I was sourly mistaken. The guy who seemed to be the leader of the three grabbed my hair upward, forcefully bringing my head up.I winced at the agonizing pain."Hah...it is you...don't you dare ignore me...I just wanna talk,"He hissed.I swallowed thickly as I looked away my eyes gazing at the theater hoping to see Mirio. For him to save me.The boy growled before punching me.I stumbled back my cheek stinging with the impact.I couldn't do anything. All I could do was ignore them. But obviously they didn't want to ignore me.The leader kicked me down, hitting my shoulder making me fall down in pain.He kicked me down on to concrete and his two minions restrained me.The bystanders that noticed this weren't doing anything. They didn't care. They didn't care to save one person.I squeezed my eyes shot as I tried not to cry out in pain.
Mirio!Mirio's POV
I felt a twinge of sensation making me tense up.Tamaki.He was in danger.I could feel it.The cashier was giving me the tickets but I stoped short.I ran out at the confusion of the cashier who was waiting for me to get the tickets that I'd paid for.But I didn't care. Not now.Tamaki.He's hurt.I ran out and my gaze flashed everywhere before it went to three boys who were hitting Tamaki. My eyes flared with rage as I ran up at one and punched him.I felt my blood boil as I saw Tamaki look up his eyes scared and horrified, his skin ghostly pale, as blood ran down his beaten cheek.
"Leave!"I barked at the three who stood back looking at me with annoyance.I pulled Tamaki up, holding him by the waist as I glared at them. One of them was about to say something when an older man came up and broke up the fighting.
"All of you leave!Theres no place here for your fighting,"He growled and the three boys reluctantly walked away.Rage still boiled in me but all I could do with it was pull Tamaki to his house. The darkness fluttered around us but all I felt was anger.
Damn itTamaki's POV
Mirio dragged me making my wrist sting with the force. But I could tell he was furious with what happened so I didn't complain. He rushed us to my house and once we got there I could tell my mom wasn't awake.I unlocked the front door and opened it and we both walked in as I closed the door behind us quietly. My legs trembled before I finally collapsed.Mirio fell down with me his eyes gazing at me.
"Come on,"Mirio whispered as he pulled me up as we went to the kitchen. He pulled me over to a chair and turned on a dim light as to not awaken my mother."Take off your shirt,"Mirio commanded and it took me a second to register what was happening.
"W-what?"I asked but I knew it wasn't for anything sexual.I looked away before nodding, pulling my shirt off.I could tell it was bad, Mirio's eyes flared with rage at the sight. His hands trailed against my skin and I winced as a sharp pain raised.Mirio's hand pulled back quickly at my reaction."I-it's fine..."I whispered and I could tell Mirio did not agree.
"No it's not!"Mirio hissed, trying to keep his voice at a whisper. He paused before inhaling deeply, walking over to the freezer to pull out an ice pack.He covered it with a clean dish towel and gave it to me.I pressed it gently against the growing bruise.Mirio growled at the sight of me.I couldn't blame him, I had gotten many bruises but these were painful, and they'd stay for a while. Some were still appearing, and they'd turn purple by sunrise."Where's the first aid kit?"Mirio asked and I pointed to a low cabinet. He pulled it out and proceeded to put ointment on my skin to ease me pain before putting bandages.Once he finished caring for me he pulled off his coat and gave it so me.I looked at him and he blushed, looking away."You'll catch a cold if your haft naked like that."Was his excuse but I think it was because it would be awkward if someone caught us, with me being haft naked like this, it would be hard to explain.
"Who were they?"Mirio whispered out but his voice was rough with emotion.
"..."I paused before inhaling to calm my nerves."Former bullies from Junior high,"I answered and I could tell Mirio was flowing with anger."Back there, that was a coincidental meeting, I haven't had contact with them since graduating Junior high,"I said reassuringly to Mirio but he still looked a bit angry.
"You shouldn't have had bullies in the first place,"Mirio growled.
"Well I was the awkward gay kid who never talked to anyone so it was pretty easy to torment me,"I said with a shrug realizing quickly that my shoulder ached whenever I did that type of movement."Besides that's not who I am now,"I said with a small smile.
"I know but...knowing people like that are out there...who have hurt you...makes me want to.."Mirio whispered out his voice hoarse and raw.
"Then I'll have you...to piece me back together again,"I said with a smile.Mirio looked at me before cupping my cheek, that was untouched by those boys, and pulled me in before kissing me.I felt my hands trail toward his hair, tugging it as he kissed me deeply. He pulled back and I knew that if the situation was different we would have been doing something entirely more heated then right now."Mirio...thank you.."I said with a small smile.
"For what?"Mirio asked breathing heavily as he looked at me straight in the eyes.
"For being my soulmate,"For being here
