The Silent Rogue

Chapter 4

I woke in the middle of the night.

I wasn't sure what woke me up but I felt that it was important, I could feel my wolf pacing in my head. I quickly got out of bed and looked around the room, I couldn't find anything out of the ordinary..... I decided to look out the window.

I walked up to it and opened it, I looked down and at first I couldn't find anything.

There.

I saw a shadow move behind a bush, it looked like a girl, she was about my age. She looked up and we locked eyes...

'Mate' my wolf said.

Both of us stayed frozen, she broke eye contact and ran towards the woods. I ran towards my door and put on some shoes and ran downstairs. I ran out of the house and went to the woods, I reached just as she crossed the limit we were allowed to reach as pack members.

She's a rogue....

I started walking back to the house and thought about the mess I just got myself into. I thought about the girl, my mate, she was beautiful.

My thoughts went back to the Mating Ceremony, what was I going to do now? I knew who my mate was and I also knew that for some reason the King and Queen didn't let rogues attend. So I won't be able to talk to her, dammit I didn't even know her name! I opened my bedroom door and closed my window, I turned to my bed and found a note on top of it.

I stepped closer and picked it up, it smelled faintly of freshly baked bread. I opened it and read it:

Dear Mate,

I'm sorry for running away, I wish I could have stayed but if someone else had found me I would have been doomed. My name is Carley, as you probably know I am a rogue. I have been one since I can remember, I've been looking for you for a long time. I hope we can meet again but I do not want to put you at risk, so I will leave a different address each time I send you a letter.

This is the address you can send a letter too if you want too, I wish I could text you but I sadly don't have a phone.

I stood there speechless, I re-read the letter once again. Carley... At least I knew her name now, I sighed and went back to bed. I got under the covers and tried to get some rest but with no success. I looked at the clock and found that it was 2:47 AM. I closed my eyes and let sleep finally take me.

I woke with a groan and dismissed the damn alarm clock. I sat up and noticed I had left the letter on top of my drawer, I should probably hide it from my parents I really don't want them to question me. I got out of bed and went to take a shower, I am really glad that there is no school today since the school does that for those who still haven't gotten the things they are gonna wear.

I got out and went to my closet, I decided to wear a black and white T-shirt and some leggings (yes, again) with some white Addidas.

I went down for breakfast and found someone I never thought I'd see for a long time....
