Three months had passed to the friendship of Maira with the kids and two months to the engagement of Ameer with his far relative named Khirad. Khirad was more than happy with this alliance as she was getting the fame, money and everything she ever lacked in life. However, Khirad did not like the kids and the feelings were mutual. Every now and then Zayyan would demand to go to Maira's place with his baby sister Hira, Khirad would be more than happy to see the kids leaving the house so she could trap Fatima (Ameer's mother) in her sweet talks. Ameer kept himself more busy in work avoiding everything and everyone else because there was a certain someone who was making him restless and uncomfortable there was a void in his heart.
Maira did not say anything but inside she felt as if something was wrong something is going far away from her but what she could not understand. One more fearful night she had. Next morning came with an awkward environment she was not feeling comfortable at all. Just as she was lost in her thoughts she received a call from an unknown number, she received the call but couldn't hear anything except for someone shouting and then there was a laughter sound she couldn't decipher who it was or what was the talk about. there was this uneasy feeling she wanted to get rid of and in order to do so she decided to meet the kids. Without thinking anything else she rushed to Khan mansion and witnessed the heart wrenching scene. The lower portion of the house was on fire and as the kids had described their room was on this floor only. Maira ran inside like a mad woman she had accepted the kids as hers long time back and how could a mother let the kids burn in the fire she ran straight in the house and was looking for kids here and there when she spotted Fatima. She hugged Fatima and led her out asking her about the kids. "Their room is the second one on the left please save my kids please beta" Fatima pleaded to Maira. Maira did not needed to be told twice she ran inside and took them in her shelter Hira was crying and Zayyan was losing his consciousness due to all the smoke he had inhaled and the shouting he was doing for help. Maira picked the kids and safely bought them out her left hand got burnt from fire. Ameer's father was there with the fire brigade they were trying to stop the fire but Maira asked them to rush to the hospital they need to get the kids and Fatima checked. Ameer had left for a business trip and was due to return after two days. On his return he could just see his broken house nothing else. After getting the check up done from the hospital Maira asked everyone to come at her place with her for now till the house does not get into a proper living place so here the entire Khan was residing with Maira.
Ameer felt helpless and after staying two days at hotels, using his sources and asking from everyone he got to know that his family is safe with Maira. He at once reached her place and met them when he came towards Fatima he was blessed with a tight slap. This shocked everyone. "Finally you came and now you remember that you had a family who is your responsibility, leave us your parents but couldn't you even think about your kids? and that witch fiancee of yours she is the reason why we all suffered may Allah bless Maira or we all have been burnt to ashes." Fatima scolded Ameer and just the thought of him staying away from his family shoke him to the core he asked for their forgiveness. Maira asked all of them to come inside. When they were seated Ameer asked "ammi you said Khirad is the reason behind everything how so? you used to say she is a very nice person and is humble with everyone then how come?" Fatima sighed and said "the day that fire took place i had seen Khirad stealing my jewellery i asked her what she was doing she showed her true colors. She said now that i have seen her real face there was no need for me to live and the kids were already a hurdle for her i called your abba but he was not at home. Zayyan came and saw what was happening and he at once from my cellphone called Maira and she came and saved us." Fatima smiled at Maira. Ameer then turned towards Zayyan and asked him "how did you know Maira's number your a small kid." Zayyan got offended with this question and specially the small kid remark and at once retorted "i am not small Maira aunty says i am big and i can protect my family she made me learn her number and asked me to dial it whenever in need and then pray to Allah so when i saw the fire i took Hira with me in my room and called Maira aunty but Khirad kharoos saw us and snatched the phone." Maira glared at him when he said kharoos to Khirad. Zayyan then turned towards Fatima and asked "now can i call her Maira mama you said once baba will return then i can take her with me and she will by our mama." Maira and Ameer got shocked at Zayyan's request.
It was then that the elders of both the families told each Maira and Ameer that they had discussed with each other and only if they were okay with the alliance they would take further steps. Ameer agreed and was now looking at Maira waiting for her response.
