The new Holy Roman Emperor part 1

Archangel Camael known as the wrath of God, this fearsome Archangel has a sweet little girl by the name of Christine.

Father and daughter were, as usual, training with various weapons.
Archangel Camael saw fit to train his daughter in all forms of combat and Christine was a naturel, it seemed like she used every weapon almost like she had fought with it for years.
Even at a young age, Christine kept her father on his toes, Archangel Camael did his best to keep up with his daughter who was learning faster than her could teach her but the time had now come, for a different kind of training, a different kind of adventure.
Within one of the levels of heaven, stood father and daughter.
Christine was a smart girl so she knew what was coming.
" Is it time? " said Christine.
" It is, " said Archangel Camael, looking at his sweet little girl.
Christine was a warrior at heart but she also loved her father dearly, which is why she now hugged her dear beloved father.
Father and daughter stayed in each other's embrace for some time, the time then passed and it was time to go.
" Remember " said Archangel Camael has he looked deep into his daughter's eyes " Remember, there is no challenge that you can not overcome, be it a warrior, a kingdom or an entire nation or even an entire world, there is no doubt in my mind that you can take them all down, you are strong, always remember that " said the wrath of God doing his best not to cry.
Christine gave her father a kiss on his cheek and then said
" I love you dad "
She then vanished from heaven.
Alone in heaven, Archangel Camael said
" I love you too "

The Emperor and his Paladins
The year is around 816 and Louis the Pious is the Emperor over the Carolingian Empire, King of the Franks and King of Aquitaine, with the help of Pope Stephen IV Louis has been made into the new Holy Roman Emperor and in this version, the church and the pope hold no power over Louis.
Louis also wields the legendary sword known as Joyeuse, a sword he inherited from his father.
Now, on to the 12 Paladins who serve under Emperor Louis.

Geoffroi de Charny Paladin, general and leader of the Paladins and who also wields the Oriflamme.

The Sable knight also known as king Pellinore who wields Durendal.

Götz von berlichingen whose right arm is replaced with a lantern shield

Louis Dantés, nickname; old Dantés

Jacquermin d'Arc, the brother of Joan of Arc

Paris, the greatest archer among the Paladins.

Reginald Front-de-Boeuf the unmatched Paladin.

Judas Maccabeus the ideal knight

Menw the Enchanted knight who can shapeshift.

Tortolina, the daughter of Mordred, the daughter of the betrayer.
Tortolina wields the sword Carnwennan (little white hilt)
The Carnwennan can make its wielder invisible.
The Carnwennan is fused with the Dyrnwyn.
So now the Carnwennan can make its wielder invisible and can turn into a blazing blade.

William Marshal, the greatest knight.

Childe Rowland, the rookie Paladin.

These 12 serve and are only loyal to Emperor Louis.
Now, on with the adventures!

Christine finds herself within one of the forests near Emperor Louis' kingdom in France, it is also this kingdom where the Emperor and his Paladin are located.
While walking, Christine could not help but notice the creatures of the forest, not just the animals but also the fairies, unicorns and dragons to name a few.
Christine enjoyed every moment, true that the forest was nothing compared to heaven itself but there was just something unique about what Christine saw, she then heard a sound she knew all too well and that was the sound of weapons clashing.
Christine ran towards the familiar sound and stopped and hid behind a bush, in front of Christine was an opening in the forest and in that opening were some of the Paladins training the rookie Paladin.
" Come on Rowland! keep your guard up and keep moving your feet! " said Old Dantés.
" I am doing my best! Regardless of the fact that I face the greatest knight " said Rowland.
Rowland and William Marshal exchanged blow after blow with their swords.
Marshal did not attack, it was Rowland's job to see if he could hit Marshal and as of yet, Rowland's sword had not even come close to Marshal's body.
" Come on! You can do it! " yelled Old Dantés.
With sweat covering every inch of his body, Rowland tried and tried to land a blow but in the end, he failed.
Rowland was on the ground exhausted.
" I... will...get... you... next time... " said Rowland as he was gasping for air.
With a smile, the greatest knight said
" Anytime, anyplace "
Christine could not help but feeling like joining in on the fun but that was when she noticed a rabbit close to her.
" Hello little one " said Christine as she was about to pet the rabbit but that was when the rabbit grew in size and changed its form, for the rabbit was really Menw the shapeshifting knight.
" So, what brings a girl like you out here? " said Menw looking down at Christine.
Christine felt no fear, she simply said
" I am looking for a good fight "
Menw was taken back by those words but he was not surprised by the fact that a girl knew how to fight, after all, Tortolina was a Paladin.
" So you wish to fight, very well " said Menw as he made himself and Christine known to the rest.
" Hey guys, which one of you would like to take this girl on? " said Menw to his fellow Paladins.
" She seems to be about the same age as Rowland, " said Old Dantés.
Rowland sat up and looked at Christine.
" I will take her on, " said Marshal and just like that, Christine was given a sword and was about to fight the greatest knight.
" If you can land a single hit on my body, then you have won, " said Marshal.
The battle began and Christine immediately tapped Marshal's leg with her sword.
All the Paladins were taken back by what just happened.
" She is talented, " said Old Dantés.
" Amazing " Said Menw.
" Wow... " said Rowland.
" Well done " said Marshal who now knew that he could not hold anything back and with that, a fierce exchange of blows could now be seen.
Christine displayed skills that of one who had long ago mastered the sword and she was keeping Marshal on his toes, but it also seemed like Christine was holding back.
After what must have felt like hours, the "battle" was over.
" You are a skilled young girl, " said Marshal.
" And you are a skilled old man, " said Christine with a smile.
All Marshal had to say was
" I am not that old.... "
" You were amazing! " said Rowland with stars in his eyes as he ran up to Christine.
" Thanks, but you were not that bad yourself " said Christine.
" Did you see me? " said Rowland and Christine nodded, Rowland blushed.
" Dear girl, what is your name? " asked Old Dantés.
" Christine " said the little girl.
" And where are your parents? " asked Menw.
" My father is not in this world, " said Christine.
The three men looked at each other.
" Very well, then how about you come with us? " said Marshal.
" Where to? " asked Christine.
" Back to the palace of Emperor Louis, we are his Paladins " said Rowland all proud.
" Even you? " said Christine as she looked at Rowland.
" Yep! I may be a rookie but I shall become the greatest Paladin! " said Childe Rowland with endless resolve.
" You first have to beat me to get that title, " said Marshal as he patted Rowland's head.
Christine noticed the close and warm bond between all of them.
" Fine, I would be honored to come to the palace, "
" Great, now let us head home " said Old Dantés.
After some time, Christine and the Paladins reached the palace of Emperor Louis.
Christine was led to the throne-room where the Emperor and the rest of the Paladins were.
" Dantés, who is the girl with you all? " asked Charny.
" She is a skilled young girl who has nowhere to go, so we were hoping she could stay here " said Old Dantés.
" What do you mean by skilled? " said Charny.
" She was able to keep Marshal on his toes! " yelled Rowland all excited.
The Emperor and the rest of the Paladins were taken back by those words.
" Marshal, is that true? " asked Judas and Marshal nodded his head.
" Atta girl, " said Tortolina.
Emperor Louis now looked at Christine.
" Emperor, I have a question, " said Christine.
" Then ask your question " said Emperor Louis.
" Will you fight me? " said Christine with a smile.
The whole room fell quiet and the silence was broken by Götz's laughter.
" Girl has spirit, I like her, " said Götz.
" She could become a fine Paladin, " said Paris.
" But has there not always been 12 Paladins? " said Jacquermin, everyone now turned to look at the Emperor.
Emperor Louis meditated for a moment and then said
" There have always been 12 Paladins and so it shall be forever... but, that does not mean that this girl has to go " said the Emperor with a smile.
Like that, Christine joined the ranks of Emperor Louis, not as a Paladin but as a warrior.
