Yachi Hitoka used to have feelings for her upperclassmen, Kiyoko-San. Sure, it wasn't that uncommon for people to be attracted to Kiyoko. She was even seen as a "Goddess" by some second years in the volleyball club. Yachi really only discovered her feelings for the "goddess" when she was asked to be a manager of the volleyball club. It's as if their meeting was meant to be.
Yachi decided that she would confess her feelings for Kiyoko at the end of her first year. Little did she know, Kiyoko was currently in denial of her homosexual tendencies. She knew her parents wouldn't accept her, so she blocked it out and convinced herself that it was a phase. Kiyoko ended up rejecting her, and while staying in contact with the other first and second years after high school, she never really contacted Yachi after that.
Now, Yachi and the rest of the first years are in their third year. Kiyoko hadn't even tried to contact her during her second year, but then she started to get messages from an anonymous person. Though the username seems familiar to her earlier crush's nickname, she couldn't be sure. In all honesty, she wanted to keep herself distanced from Kiyoko, to ensure that she won't be hurt again.
