Carefully unlocking the door jumping at squeaky floorboards
Shuts the door behind him
What he sees shocks him
Why would his father hide this
This piece of art
Why would he keep it hidden away
His mother in all her glory
Held up by four pieces of beautifully woven rope
Like a canvas
The glorious red dripping from her carved mouth
Bringing out the blue in her eyes
Her matted golden hair
Like a halo around her head
But whilst admiring he was disturbed
Footsteps echoing down the corridor
The door to the basement was opening
Grabbing a knife off the table
And preparing...
