carly was obsessed with dolls since she was a child. it always made her happy how she could dress them up in whatever she'd like. sometimes she would cut their hair to make them look how she wanted them too. that was her favorite part, being able to truly make the doll hers.
her favorite doll when she was younger was a doll named gina. it was blonde, had bright blue eyes, and little freckles dotting her plastic face. everyday, she would brush gina's hair and dress her in an outfit that almost every time matched her own. carly adored the thing, and kept it until she was 13, when she tragically lost it during a vacation to hawaii.
her mother had always tried to find a replica of the lost gina, for her daughter cried and cried for her missing doll. but alas, she could never find one. so, the mother tried to compensate by buying her daughter as many dolls as she wanted, filling her little girl's room to the brim with them.
but carly never payed attention to those dolls, and she never stopped looking, and would often use her moms computer daily to search websites in order to find a clone of her beloved doll. and like her mother, she wasn't able to find one that looked exactly like what she was so desperately searching for.
it wasn't until carly was 25 that she found what she was looking for. the doll was perfect, looked exactly like the beloved gina. they even shared a name. attaining her was the hard part, as carly had always relied on her mother to get her dolls.
but once she got her gina back to the house, she was filled with bliss. it was perfect, and carly quickly lost all interest in her other dolls when this one came into her possession.
"but the first gina didn't have a voice box." carly whined, her fist slamming down onto the bed angrily.
"p-please.. let me go.." the replacement gina whimpered, struggling against the ropes that held her to the bed.
"no no no!" her captor shouted in response. "none of the other ones fought back!"
gina's eyes darted around the room, and fresh tears tracked down the red lines that were already stained onto her cheeks. several other dolls sat around the room, dressed in pastel colored dresses and white stockings with black mary janes.
carly followed the girls eyes, and scoffed. "they all became too icky to play with. mommy tried to keep them together but they just kept falling apart." she pouted, crossing her arms.
as her eyes adjusted to the darkness, gina's mouth fell open and she started to scream. in front of her weren't dolls, but the bodies of girls in varying stages of decomposition.
her screaming stopped as she felt the cool metal of a knife pressed against her throat. "you're being too loud. i think i'm gonna have to remove your voice box now."
