"Are you ready?" came the raspy voice a few hours later. "yes, I am." Maya replied. "Good, we shall start now then." Maya quickly grabbed her black woolen sweater from her wardrobe and put it on, before climbing out her window into pitch darkness. She could feel a achy pain rise up from her ankle as her left leg hit the cold hard ground. "ouch!" Maya yelped. "I'm not sure I want to do this, It's too risky." Maya said, caressing her left ankle. "Don't you want revenge?" came the voice again. "Yes I do, but..aren't there other ways to go about this?" "No, this is the best way." the voice hollered. With what seemed like a sprained left ankle, Maya continued to inch forward bit by bit, in hopes of being slightly closer to her final goal.
The wind became colder, as midnight descended upon the town. Maya shivered, struggling to keep her body warmth intact. "Found you." she whispered slyly, as she walked towards a white glass mansion with the door hanging ajar. "The baby sitter must've left the door open, how foolish." She thought to herself. Maya tiptoed in and pressed herself against the wall to regain her train of thought. The house seemed dead, as if everyone were asleep. "Shouldn't there be like some kind of security?" The strange raspy voice asked. "Unlikely" Maya answered, "They don't trust anyone, not after the maid incident.." "Then why a baby sitter?" "It's temporary, which makes it a lot easier for them to monitor her ins and outs." A deep breath later, Maya was silently tiptoeing up the staircase into the baby's room.
"waaaah!" whimpered the baby loudly when the alarm went off. Maya stood silently next to a wall, preparing herself for immediate escape. She took another deep breath, and waited for a few minutes. No response. Seemed like everyone was still asleep. Maya swiftly picked up Lexie from her cot and placed her in a small basket, which she quickly layered with cloth. Maya then tiptoed out of the baby's room, carrying the basket delicately. "Finally, we're out!" Maya exclaimed softly with a sigh of relief. Morning had just dawned upon them, and they wouldn't be able to afford staying any longer. Maya could once more feel the ache in her left ankle as she inched her way back home now that the adrenaline had worn off.
Ring!, Ring! " "Yes, who is this?" Jason asked. "It's me, Maya, miss me?" Jason immediately felt a feeling of guilt drip down his spine, leaving his throat dry. "What do you want?!" he answered. Trembling. "I have Lexie, and if you want her back, you have to divorce Maria, or I'll keep the baby and your little secret will be revealed to the world." "HAH sure, You'll never be able to do that." Jason said reassuring himself. "My dear baby, oh where could she be!" Maria screamed from upstairs. Jason sighed, "She was kidnapped, and your sister Maya's threatening us."
