Slowly she strolled home, gripping at the strap of her bag. She was glad that there wasn't much on her mind, like the past few days. But at the same time it was still there, swimming in the back of her head.

"I'm home!" She called as she closed the door.

She creased her eyebrows when she heard no response. Instead, the scent of her mums cooking tickled her nose as soon as she was inside. It made her stomach rumble uncontrollably.

She took off her shoes, carefully placing them aside before following her nose and going into the kitchen.

"Hi mummy!"

"Hey Jades." Her mum grinned, rather excitedly.

"Something smells really good!"

"How was your second day?" Her mum chuckled lightly.

"Better." Jade paused as she cracked a little smile.

"I'm glad," her mum replied, "I just finished cooking so, there's food on the stove here, if you're hungry."

"Oh okay. Yeah, I'm starving! I'm just going to change out of my clothes."

"Alright, I'll set a plate for you."

"Thank you!"

When she got to her room, she threw her bag carelessly aside before stripping out of her clothes and tossed them in the wash basket she had in her room.

She then got dressed into a pair of leggings, fluffy socks and a vest, before tying her hair up into a pony tail and heading back to the kitchen. Her mum was sat at the table and Jade took the spot opposite, where a plate of food was already waiting for her.

"This looks really delicious!" She exclaimed as she picked up her fork.

"Thank you." Her mum responded.

As she ate, she couldn't stop the groans of satisfaction that were tumbling from her mouth. Her mum only chuckled.

"Looks like someone was really hungry!"

"I was!" Her small fist clenched on her thighs, rather softly.

"So, mummy..." She began.

"Yeah?"

"There's something I wanted to tell you, well, ask you."

Her mum continued to eat, but placed all the attention on her daughter as she spoke.

"Well, the girls of my class invited me to a sleepover this weekend at the dorms and I was wondering if I could go."

Her mum couldn't help but grin at the idea as she clapped her hands together excitedly, "That sounds like fun."

Jade grinned as she nodded at her mum. It was miraculous to her that she could have found such welcoming classmates. It made her feel very comfortable, even though she had only been there for a couple of days.

"It's no problem for me," her mum smiled, "You can go, of course."

"Thank you."

"There's something I wanted to talk to you about now." Her mum clapped.

Jade looked up at her mum, watching her bubble over with excitement like she was going to explode.

"So, when you told me you got into U.A, I've been busy at work."

"Huh? Mummy you work so hard already-"

"Don't be silly! Remember I'm your mother!" She replied, "You know I just want the best for my baby!"
