~Chapter 2~

I snap awake caused by a sudden movement, dam it I must have dozed off …, by my phone vibrating in my jacket pocket. I slide to unlock to see I’ve received a text from Jim. I open up the message with a gleeful look in my eyes.

‘If you dear breathe a word about it, I will find you and I WILL SKINNNN YOU!!!!’

I laugh to myself; he is always such a drama queen, an angry one at that. He is too easy to manipulate, NOOO FUNNN, I want a worthy opponent, an equal. It’s not so much to ask for, is it? But I won’t Find one but I’ve got to hold up hope, I need stimulus, without it my brain rots!

I delve into my mind palace, bringing up my English notes up in my mind, I skim throw the pages of work, refreshing my mind to the tedious work set in place by my teacher. “This is going to be a breeze” I say to myself as I exit my mind palace, then when I exit I realise the bus has already pulled into the academy; the grand building had seen better days, like most things in this town. The slightly gothic architecture gloomed over, casing a cold, unwelcoming vibe over the building, not the most pleasant first impression of the academy granted, however I like it, maybe because it reflects my mood, putting it into a visual context I guess.

I grab my school bag and exit the bus, making my way to my usual meeting place of my best friends, I know deep down, a nagging voice in the back of my mind saying that I should cut off my connections with them, as they are my pressure points it could be a huge disadvantage and could possibly even be my own downfall, but much as I hate to admit it I enjoy there company, we share some common interests and have many happy memories together when we were younger.

After walking throw the school grounds, plugging in my headphones to drown out the voices of people around me, I arrive at my usual spot in the middle of the courtyard underneath an old oak tree, but much to my surprise I’m greeted by an unusual sight.

Jim Moriarty standing there, under the shadows of the oak tree branches with two of the most notorious school bullies in the academy siding either side of him. I take out my headphones and pocket my phone. I glance at the two thugs. On the right; Sam Hurley,
