- I recommend listening to the song in the dancing part. - (Enjoy :-))
''Heey giirl, you look goood'' Zoe said opening the front door to her house, giving me one of her big smiles. I returned her smile in a smaller dose.
I was actually kind of surprised when I found myself walking in an area with small cozy houses in Southkeep. I never imagined this place to have neighborhoods like these. I mean, they weren't mansions, but they had their own kind of old-school charm.
''Really? You think so?'' I asked, straightening my baby pink silk top, and pulling my black jeans a little bit higher up.
''Yeah Ade really, I mean maybe a little too plain for me, but definitely cute.'' Zoe stated nudging my shoulder, I smiled, admiring her appearance.
I definitely looked boring with Zoe standing next to me, she had a full face of makeup, big hoop earrings, her cornrows had been placed in a big beautiful bun on her head, and she was wearing a leopard print crop top with a matching high wasted skirt, and of course, a pair of stilettos to go with her acrylic nails. She was so extra, but somehow, she pulled it off perfectly.
''I gotta say Zoe, you look stunning. Do you think I'm underdressed?'' I asked, tucking strands of loose hair behind my ears, wondering what kind of place Encore really was if Zoe had to go all out like that, just for a night out with friends.
Her emerald eyes studied me, ''No Ade, you look just like you. A lot of natural beauty going on, I dig it.''
She was leaving something out, I could feel it.
''But?'' I asked waiting for the last part.
''But, a little hairdo never hurt anyone. Let me do your hair, it could really complete your look, and maybe you could also let me touch up on your makeup a little bit. Make those big grey eyes sparkle.'' She asked, the question being more of a command rather than me having an actual choice.
She grabbed my hand and yanked me inside her little old house and into her room.
*******
''Damn, I mean look at you, I'm a genius.'' Zoe sighed admiringly, putting her makeup brush on her little table, taking a step back to take in the sight of her work.
My wavy, honey blond hair, had been pulled up into a high ponytail, leaving strands of curled hair on each side of my face. Apart from that, Zoe had done some shimmery baby pink eyeshadow on my eyelids to draw attention to my eyes, as she put it, and to match my silk-top.
She tilted her head with a hand on her chin, ''You know, you could be a model Ade, seriously, those cheekbones are insane. You should put your hair up more often girl.''
I waved her off standing up next to her, ''don't be silly, let's get going I think we're late.'' I answered, as Zoe nodded opening her bedroom door.
''Well, technically I'm never late, others are just too early you know? Though, Zay and Garcia are probably wondering where we are,'' she looked back at me, ''hopefully Flake's there too, I've had my eyes on him ever since his long-distance thing with that rich, college girl didn't work out... No offence.''
Puzzled I walked behind her through the hallway, ''Uhm, non-taken.. Is Garcia going to be there?'' I asked surprised, she stopped to stick her head through the kitchen door, completely ignoring my question, ''Bye momma, I'll be back later with Zay okay. Don't wait up!''
I didn't hear her mother's answer, Zoe simply kept on walking towards the front door after the announcement, looking back at me quickly, answering the question I thought she didn't hear, ''Of course he is. My brother always yanks Garcia's ass to Encore, that's how he gets girls.'' she laughed.
