part 1 - the outing

You waited at the usual meeting spot that you all had agreed on years ago, and like always, you were the first one to arrive. You played on your phone until you saw Mina Ashido walk up to you, smiling and waving. "Hey girl! How's it going?" she says as she opens her arms for a hug. You return the hug, and it feels like Mina is squeezing the breath out of you. "Okay, okay OKAY!" you say, struggling for breath. "Sorry, I just missed you a whole lot. Wonder when everyone else is gonna get here." She says, and you shrug your shoulders.

    "I'm kind of surprised you didn't get Kiri to give you a ride." She says, nudging you with her elbow. She raises her eyebrow, knowing that you have a huge crush on Kirishima, and have ever since high school. "Ha ha ha, very funny. We haven't even hung out since this semester started, my classes have got me beat." I say, and I definitely wasn't joking. I have basically no time for myself because of my studies, let alone fun. "Yeah, I get that. Look, there's Denki and Sero!"

    The two boys run up to us and pummel us into a group hug. "We missed you guys! How's it been?" Denki asks, and Mina and I both say "Good!" simultaneously. We spend the next few minutes talking to Denki and Sero, and eventually, Bakugou joins our group. He doesn't hug us like Denki and Sero did, but you could tell that in his own aggressive way, he was glad to see all of us.

    I finally see him walking up to our group, and he is secretly who I am most excited to see. He's close enough to us now that I can see his bright smile from where I'm standing. He waves at us, and we all wave back. "Kiri! So glad you could finally join us, dude!" Denki says as he fist bumps the redhead. "Yeah yeah, I know I'm late. I couldn't find my other shoe." He says, and we all chuckle. "Anyway, now that I'm here, where are we headed?" He asks with his usual gung-ho eagerness.

    "Well, I figured we could go mini golfing, then Bakugou suggested that we go see that new scary movie that just came out!" Mina says, and it seems like everyone in the group is on board. We head toward the mini golf course, walking as a group. It wasn't very far away, and it only took us about ten minutes to walk there.

    Once we got to the course, we decided to golf in teams. There were three separate courses, so we paired up into teams of two and split up. The teams consisted of Denki and Sero, Mina and Bakugou, and Kirishima and I (per Mina's request). Kiri and I wandered off to the course we were playing on, and it had an underwater theme.

    The first hole of the course welcomed us with a massive shark statue, and the shot didn't look difficult. "Hey! He looks like he could be my brother! Get it?" He says as he smiles and points to his teeth. "Nah, I think you look better than him." I say, trying to flirt, but I feel like my attempt came off as awkward. Kiri smiles at me and puts his golf ball at the starting point.

    He putts the ball, and gets a hole in one right into the shark's mouth! He celebrates by doing a little dance, which I can't help but chuckle at. "Your turn, Y/N! You can do it!" he says, and I give him a thumbs up. I get ready to put the ball and line up my shot, and I suddenly feel warmth around my neck area. "Don't mess up, Y/N" Kiri whispers in my ear playfully, and I feel goosebumps rise on my neck and down my back. He sort of startled me, so when I putt the ball, it hits one of the shark's bottom teeth and bounces back.

    "Aw, man! I guess my words on encouragement didn't help." Kiri chuckles. "Oh, I think it did. That was my bad." I say, knowing that his 'words of encouragement' are the reason I have butterflies in my stomach. I take a second shot at the golf ball, and it goes right into the hole. "That's what I'm talking about!" Kiri says as he gives me a high five. "Looks like I got some competition!" He says with a wink. "You better watch out, I'm only a point away from you!" I say as I mark our scorecard. "It's only the first hole, Y/N, you ain't seen nothin' yet!" He says, and I smile at his determination.

    We play the next few holes of mini golf, and we realize we are pretty evenly matched. We putted our way through octopuses, fish, and even a very poorly sculpted mermaid, which we took selfies with. We reach the last hole, which is a clam whose mouth opens and closes. Our scores are tied, and Kiri is up first. He putts the ball, and it bounces back to him, which emits a groan out of Kirishima's mouth. "Ugh, this damn clam!" He says, and he puts again, and this time the ball sinks right into the clam's mouth and into a bucket, meaning that our putt putt game is over!

    It's my turn to putt, and I line up my shot. I whack the ball with my golf club, and it shoots directly into the clam's mouth with a thud! I throw both of my arms into the air and celebrate. I have officially beaten Kirishima by one less point, making me the winner. "I am the champion my frieeeeeeend," I sing to Kirishima, and he lifts me up by the waist. "That's my girl! I told you that you could do it!" He says, and I feel my face turning red. Holy shit, he totally just said that! I thought to myself, the blush on my cheeks deepening.

    He's holding me up in the air by my waist, and we're facing each other. His pointy toothed smile is contagious, and I can't help but grin back at him. Still airborne, I put both of my hands on his shoulders. "Couldn't have done it without you, Kiri!" I say, and he chuckles. He puts me down softly and puts his arm around my shoulder as we walk back to the entrance of the mini golf place. We spot the others, and we walk over to them.

    I instantly see Mina's eyes light up at the sight of Kirishima's arm around my shoulders. "Guys! Y/N absolutely rocked!" Kiri yells, and everyone just smiles. "That's awesome! Sero won against me, but I think he totally cheated." Kaminari says, and Sero punches him in the arm. "I did not! Trust me!" he says, and we all chuckle. "Bakugou totally kicked my ass, he beat me by 23 points!" Mina says, and Bakugou smirks.

    Kirishima's arm is still slung around me, and Denki takes notice. He looks at Kiri's arm and then looks at me, and a smirk creeps up on his face. "Looks like you guys had fun playing mini golf, huh?" He says as he nudges Kirishima with his elbow. "We sure did! I thought I was gonna win, but Y/N is some sort of mini golf master!" Kiri says as he fist bumps me with his free hand. "Did ya do anything else other than play mini golf, hm?" Sero asks with a wink. "You guys are gross, shut up." Bakugou says, and I just roll my eyes as Kirishima laughs.

    "Alright, alright. Let's head to the movie theater!" Kirishima yells as he unhooks his arm from around me and points to the direction of the movie theater. The others start walking and chatting together, and I notice that Kirishima is hanging around me toward the back of the group. "So, Y/N, do you like scary movies?" He asks, and I shrug my shoulders. "I haven't seen too many, honestly." I respond, and Kirishima nods. "I see. Don't worry, you can jump into my arms if you get too scared!" Kirishima jokes, and I feel my face begin to heat up. "I might just take you up on that offer." I say surprised at my boldness.

    "I wouldn't mind if you did." He says with a wink. Next thing I know, we're at the entrance of the movie theater.
