Dani, Harry, Ron, and Hermione become best friends in their first year at Hogwarts and are inseparable. But, what happens when you fall for your best friend's brother, or when your best friend's brother falls for you?
All I could remember was there was a boy with a scar and glasses, and very baggy clothes, sitting on the floor and making a birthday wish. I didn't think that much of it and checked the time August 30, 6:15 am.
Ughhh.
It seemed as though I had fallen asleep at my desk reading. I grabbed my book and made my way over to my bed. I set my book down on my nightstand and curled up underneath the covers.
As I lay, my mind kept pulling me back to that boy with the baggy clothes and the scar until I eventually fell asleep.
---------------------------------
I woke to the sound of birds chirping aggressively outside of my window. I groaned and rolled onto my back, laying there for a second. My hands covered my eyes, blocking in any sunlight that blasted through the curtains. There was a bird still chirping very loudly, so I peeled my hands back from my eyes, which revealed the bright light coming from the window. I winced as my eyes adjusted to the light. I turned onto my side and looked at the clock. 1 p.m.
I groaned and slowly got out of bed. I stood for a second reached my hands up to the ceiling and stretched. I walked over to the window and opened the blinds- which revealed not a bird but a big white owl. He was hooting away as if wanting to be let in.
I ran down the stairs.
"Dad!" I called. "Dad, there is a really big owl outside my window, it's been chirping forever." I made my way to the kitchen and stood behind one of the chairs.
"Good afternoon to you too," Dad said eating some toast with a newspaper in his hand. Mom swooped in and dropped some pancakes on my plate.
"We thought you would never come down," she said.
"Ha, Ha, very funny. But I am serious Dad, there is an owl outside my window", I responded.
He started to reply but then we heard a thud by the front door.
"Not it!" I yelled, followed by my mother who had said the same thing.
My mom started laughing when my dad stared at us with daggers. I stuck out my tongue and he got up to go check out what was at the front door.
My mom and I held our tongues while we waited... and waited... and waited. Then we heard him make a noise and all of a sudden something big and bright flew inside. I ducked and screamed, hiding under the table.
"OHMYGODWHATISINTHEHOUSE!" I yelled.
And that was when I heard it. The chirping that was outside my window.
Oh, it better not be what I think it is.
I slowly very slowly poked my head out from under the table. And I saw it. It was massive, with a thick white coat and dark brown eyes.
"WHATTHEBLOODYHELL" I screamed and ducked under the table.
"It's okay sweetie," Dad said softly.
"IN WHAT WORLD IS IT OKAY FOR THERE TO BE AN OWL IN A BLOODY HOUSE!" I yelled back.
"Language," my mom cut in before my dad continued.
"Just come out from under the table, it is safe out here. I promise" Dad said convincingly.
I contemplated for a second and then decided I would bite the bullet. I slowly crawled out from under the table and stood up, closing my eyes. I opened one eye and was met with my Mom feeding said owl and my Dad petting it.
Both my eyes shot open. "What universe did I just walk into? This must be a dream," I said and then proceeded to pinch myself. A yelp escaped my lips.
Not a dream.
I sat down and rubbed my eyes. It was silent for a few moments before I heard two sets of feet drag on the floor to either side of me.
"So there is something we have been meaning to mention..." Dad said. I picked my head up and spotted him holding a letter.
"This may be a bit hard to digest sweetie. But... we are wizards," Mom said cautiously.
I big fat laugh escaped my lips. "You must be mental. Both of you."
"Nope - it is true," Mom said as Dad handed me the letter. I took it and surveyed the front.

I turned the envelope over and ripped it open. There were grabbed two pieces of paper inside. The first one read:

Then the second separate paper had a list of materials and books to get. I looked up at Mom and Dad who were smiling at me with excitement. I gave them a confused look.
"Sweetheart?" Mom said as both Mom and Dad stared at me with a concerned look on their faces.
"I know it is a lot to take in..." my Dad said as I drifted off.
The thoughts in my mind were so loud. My head was thumping. Is this real? Wizards are real? What's Hogwarts? How do Mom and Dad know about this? Who is Dumbledore? Why don't Mom and Dad look worried?
I looked up not realizing I had drifted off. Stuck in my thoughts. It seemed like five seconds but I looked at the time and a few minutes had passed.
"What is Hogwarts?" I asked.
They both scrambled to explain to me all about the school. I learned about how they both got their letters at my age and how they both attended Hogwarts at the same time. They told me about how they met and went on and on. In turn, I asked them all sorts of questions: Who is Dumbledore? What subjects were taught? When would I be leaving? What does the school look like? How many students were there?
There was a lot to talk about and when we were done I had learned a whole lot about the wizarding world. I even saw them do some magic with their wands (I hope mine is pretty). That is what made me the most excited if I am being honest. I would be going to school to learn spells. Much better than being a muggle (see how I'm using muggle instead of people) and learning maths history and language arts.
Eventually, they wrote back to the school saying that I would be attending. They attached the letter to the owl's leg, fed it some more food and it took flight.
After that, I went upstairs and got ready to bed. I couldn't stop thinking about my new school and how much more there was to learn. I set a notepad down next to my bed, just in case I wanted to jot down some questions I thought of while I fell asleep.
