Fire!
Smoke!
Death!
Cornered they fought! In-between them, they protected their future. They kept him their only child. Shielding him from the very clutched of Death. The world we live in is cruel. And even death takes no care to a child. The Two Parents Fought. Tears streamed as the boy cried out for his mother. He wept. His very tears scorching his cheeks in the burning house around him. Inhalation of smoke, the burning heat of the fire. And the ear-wrenching shrieks of the monsters surrounded the boy and his parents. How frightened he was.
A hand or a claw. An indescribable thing. Reach forward latching on to the boy. The young child shrieked in fear. But for naught, a screech louder than his own drowned his cry for help out. "No!" His parent's eyes were drawn to the child. When his mother chopped off the very hand that touches her child. "Kylie! Get Him and Get Out!" The boy's father Roared, the fire roaring back in mockery.
"Kliff, get out of there!" A voice yelled, but echoed scarcely above a whisper, the roaring flames overshadowing it. "THE HOUSE IS CAVING WE HAVE TO GO!" But being corner what could they do?! Kliff Looked at his Wife and son.
He knew then he must get them out safe.
His love and his future were before him.
He knew then he had to see the unseen.
And it was then he saw the opening.
Two of the wretched golems fighting for space to get closer to them, "Kylie," Kliff turned to his wife.
"I will make the opening!" She looked at him with worried eyes. "Not without you!" He held his arms outward facing the evil before them. Holding his family protectively behind him. "Go!" He spoke with determination, "I'll be right behind you!" Then he charged with the only weapon he had his fist. He lunged at the fighting Golems. Sending the group into a frenzy of chaos. Tumbling and fighting among them the distraction in-play. "GO!" Kliff shouted!
Kylie lifted her child in her hands and leaped over death itself. She ran holding her son. But at the end of the hall, she stopped to watch her love. She could not bring herself to leave him.
Kliff kicked the nearest goblin in the face that held his already bruised leg. He lifted himself and ran after his future. But he had to protect it. He stopped pulling a Xiphos Blade from the decorative wall shelf.
He slashed his sword just as the first beast approached. The animal screeched in a wretched manner, beguiled with pain. Kliff stabbed its heart ending its life. More came. But what a man can do to protect his family is named impossible. And Kliff made it possible. More than 30 of these evil being pushed and shoved down the hallway to get to the one that had killed their comrade. Kliff looked in the face of death and shoved a sword straight through her chest. He held his ground as more and more came. The creature jumped off the wall leaping at him. He ducked swinging the sword above his scalp. Slicing the goblin's throat clean open. Before he jumped forward slashing twice to the chest of the beast he beheld. It fell no sound came from it except the struggle to breathe. He jumped aside as a hand reached for his throat. The creature jagged and sharp claws nearly landing his death blow. But dodging the blow, Kliff faded to the left chopping the arm of the creature off. The creature slashed with his other claw. Kliff spun dodging the blow, and another Golem jumping at him. He lifted his sword once again chopping the head off. Another one fell, one-armed and headless. One by one they fell. He maneuvers his way through the maze of golems steady coming. More and more dropped. All the training he ever had both in the human world and his own. Came back to him like the rush of adrenaline that was coursing through his veins.
