Child's Play {COMPLETED}

Chapter 5

Umm small note here in childcare (Particularly where im from) kids are encouraged to get independence away from their parents and teachers. A lot of tasks like grabbing a school bag, being able to say what they need, serving food to themselves as well as other minor stuff is all encouraged and important. The parents and teachers aren't being jerks just doing what's best.

"Long time no see. Kageyama."

In front of me was the famous Oikawa Toru. He stood there smiling but not as cocky as when we were in high school. I started at him a moment. He looks a lot different than high school but still the same. I snapped out of it and walked up to him.

"Hello Oikawa." I tried my best to sound confident like I was with other parents, but I spoke quite quietly.

"Hello Kageyama, its good to see you again. How did everything go?" Oikawa asked seeming a little worried.

"Well it went well for a first day. From when I got here, he seemed to be a bit shy but once he met me he seemed to open up to playing with the others too." I told Oikawa before a smirk fell on my lips, "He ALSO mentioned that you told him about our rivalry and that I was cool."

"Ahh well I've mentioned it to him a few times. Especially when I found out you were working here." Oikawa blushed a little, it was quite cute. Wait what? No? Yamaguchi came up with Haru and asked me to help one of the other kids and his family as he talked with Oikawa.

Oikawa POV

"Ahh well I've mentioned it to him a few times. Especially when I found out you were working here." I felt my cheeks warm up a little as I spoke. He didn't seem to notice though, thank goodness. As I spoke I noticed that Yamaguchi was walking up with my little boy. He asked Kageyama to go off with others while we had a chat. I bent down to my boy, "Hello Haru how was daycare?"

"Daddy Hiii!" he jumped on me, "It was a little scary but ok." He smiled like it was nothing, but Yamaguchi had a differing look. One that said, 'there's more than that'. I picked up Haru and sat him on my hip.

"Well from how he was this morning compared to now he was getting better. Especially after he met Kageyama. However, this morning he was very distant. Didn't talk to anyone but Yurio or myself. But even then, it was very limited. We where a little worried about him when he didn't eat very much." As Yamaguchi explained what had happened, I felt worried. Maybe this was a bad idea, what have I done. Is this my fault? I'm a terrible father...

Yamaguchi seemed to notice and continued, "But once Kageyama came in and met him he seamed to be more open even if only by a little. He went and played with some other kids but still he spoke little and stayed very close with Kageyama. Kageyama also offered him some extra food and he seemed a lot more comfortable with it."

I felt myself sigh in relief. Glad that my son was fond of Kageyama. Aw talked a little more. He asked me some questions about this and that before Haru spoke up.

"Daddy can I show you my classroom?" He spoke softly but defiantly louder than he had been with others. I nodded and set him down. his small hand grabbed mine and we walked over to the room, Yamaguchi and I still chatting a bit. When we went in, I saw the most colorful and vibrant classroom id ever seen. "Isn't it cool daddy?"

I Looked around the amazing classroom. The walls where white and covered in all sorts of artwork and pictures. String hung from the roof with plastic vines and leaves hanging off them, as well as some flowers. The area had a small play kitchen, a brightly colored corner where dress up's and a bunch of Stuffed animals where. A cooler coloured corner with books, a small couch and big pillows. And at the back was where all of their bags where. Lots more art work was on small stands as well as some more toys.

"Wow yeh its really cool! Why don't you grab your bag now? We need to go to our new home." He nodded and left me there with Yamaguchi, "Wow who did up your classroom its amazing?"

"Well a lot of everything you see that isn't structural, which was Daichi and Suga, Everything else was mainly decorated by Kageyama. He is usually the lead educator so Yurio and I let him do it. We did some small stuff but its nothing compared to what he did."

"WAIT! Kageyama, the cold, brute, darker vibe man, did almost All of this!?" I was shocked that Kageyama of all people pulled this off! Yamaguchi laughed and nodded. I was more than shocked and then in came Kageyama.

"Kai lost his hat you seen it?" he asked Yamaguchi.

"Check the dress up box. He was wearing in class earlier maybe its there." Yamaguchi told him.

"Kageyama. Is it true you decorated a lot of the classroom?" I asked really curious to know if Yamaguchi was stretching the truth or not.

"Well yeh I did. Why something wrong with it?" He sounded a little defensive

"No, Quite the opposite actually. I think its amazing." Kageyama blushed a little at the complement and I giggled. Haru had come back with his stuff by now and I helped him fit everything in and put it on his back. "Ok we will be going now, Haru what do you say?"

"Thank you Yamaguchi~Sense and Kageyama~Sense." He bowed a little and we walked off but as we passed Kageyama I patted his shoulder and whispered,

"Thank You Kageyama."
