I looked over at the clock. 1:21AM it read. I looked back at my phone. "Jc has a girlfriend so stop trying to get with that," the text read. You didn't know who it was from. Their number wasn't one you were familiar with. Suddenly, messages flooded through all of your social medias and your phone. All of them read the same things as the first.
"Teegan! Where are you? I'm home," Jc, your roommate, called. You were to into your thoughts to reply. You turned your head to look at the door, knowing he will be there within seconds. You were scared to look at him. The tears brimmed in your eyes, and threatened to spill over.
"Teegan? What's wrong?" He says, coming over and sitting on your bed. The tears had fallen and there was no going back.
"Nothing," you say with clenched teeth,"it's nothing." He grabbed your hand and stroked his thumb over it. He knew you were lying, but he also knew with persistence you would tell him the truth.
"Teegan you're not a good lier. I can tell you're lying. Just tell me and spare some time," he said. I was about to break down and tell him the truth, but at the last second I lied again saying that there wasn't anything wrong.
"Fine. But if you wanna talk I'm right next door," Jc says, kissing your forehead and leaving your room. You sat on your bed for another 10 minutes before walking out of the room to get your sleeping medicine. You downed it with water and walked back to your room.
You grabbed a notebook and wrote the following:
It's 1:21AM and I heard the rumors that you might have a girlfriend. It kills me to hear that because I wanted to be the girl to make you happy, to make you fall in love. But you found her and because of that I'm lost. And I was hoping you'd find me.

After you'd shut the notebook, you laid down to sleep.
