After we got dressed, Daniel led me by the arm as we emerged back into his room, where I finally digest the fact that this hyung was the same guy I signed the non-disclosure agreement with. I felt like I was about to die...

He pushed his iPad towards Daniel and I, in an overly calm manner which terrified me further. He folded his arms as he waited for Daniel and me to give a reaction.

Reflected on the screen was an email with attachments of Daniel and my encounter at the hospital. "Lmao, Dispatch can take my money and fuck off," Daniel chuckled and laid back on the sofa, resting his arm lazily on my hip.

"It's not about the money, it's about you, Ms Rachel, you signed a non-disclosure agreement with us!" I jumped at his sudden attack at me, "I-I didn't mean for it to happen either, it was a coincidence..."

He tightened his grip on me and said in a no-nonsense tone, "Hyung, why you be pressed with my girl.... You should be having this talk with my father and not me or my girl. This email's title was me having a step-new-born-brother, which is pretty far-fetched if you ask me. Also, why are you so uptight about this, I can understand if it says it is my son, but whoever sent this is purely a chance God is giving to save my reputation."

His manager rolled his eyes, "Have you not seen the comments speculating online in the fan cafe? The majority thinks it's your son-"

"He," Daniel corrected, placing a kiss on my temple and taking in the scent of my hair, a habit he has when he needs to chill from the stress. "And just cut the crap, tell Dispatch to release these pictures and arrange a press conference for me tonight."

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked, genuinely confused with his decision.

"You'll see," he smiled.

At the press conference...

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, reporters from the various media outlets. The purpose of today's conference is to clarify the article Dispatch has released this morning regarding our artist, Kang Daniel. Do allow us to explain the situation before we receive any questions from the floor. We'll begin the press conference now."

Daniel cleared his throat and tap on his mic to ensure it was working, "Good evening, everyone, thank you for taking the time to attend this press conference. Regarding the article, I would like to come clean and deny that the baby boy in the article is not my step-brother, and neither is the mother my step-mother. My parents are still in a relationship, a healthy one which will make people envious..." I looked at Daniel from the back, dumbfounded as to what was he trying to say...

"In fact, what my parents have is exactly what I currently have, with my high school sweetheart." The crowd went wild, "Wait, who is your girlfriend?"

"Are you engaged?"

"Is this legal to be attached while being an idol?"

"When we're young, and in love, we tend to do things that are extreme and dumb. I never thought I would be madly in love with someone until I met her, she was my best friend, my partner-in-crime, the person who I longed to see after a long day in school or work, the girl I love deeply despite the short amount of time we've been together. She gave me the best present when she became pregnant with our son, the one in the pictures released by Dispatch, but I did something so horrible to her. I neglected her feelings, without knowing, as I feared being a horrible father and didn't know how to manage myself around her... She's kind enough to accept me again for my flaws, and that's just one of the many things I love about her. I know this will affect my reputation as an idol, but I still have to be responsible for my actions, and I do not want to hide this from my fans, who have been supportive of me since the start of produce. I'm still me, and I'm still an idol, I'm still a human. I believe I deserve my happiness, just like how all of you do. Despite all these said, I hope you will respect my privacy, especially my girlfriend's and my son's, they didn't choose to be in the spotlight like I do. Please use the same amount of love and respect you have for me towards my girlfriend and son. Thank you."
