"Amane-kun, Tsukasa-kun, are you there?"

Our lovely radish-legged heroine asked in a tired voice, she was tapping her foot impatiently but no apparition came out of the bathroom stall. A sigh came out of her lips as she put the mop in her hands against the wall.

"If you don't come out now, i'm leaving." She deadpanned, loosening the bandana in her head.

A boy in a gakuran attire suddenly popped out of the stall, arms crossed, forming an 'x' symbol.

"Nope~ unless you want in on your tank?"

Nene would have jumped in surprise at his sudden appearance, but in her one week of being the twin's assistant, she has gotten used to this trick of theirs.

Feeling defeated, she once again grabbed the mop, doused it in a bucket of water, and started to grudgingly clean the floor.

"I could atleast use company. Calling me here just to ditch me. Besides, I don't even fit in that tank anymore." She grumbled under her breath, which unfortunately, Amane heard very clearly.

"Aww, did you miss me that much, Yashiro?" He poked her cheek, but she didn't even spare him a glance. "Why would I? You're not even my type."

Amane feigned hurt, "You wound me, my dear radish-" Crap. He immediately noticed his mistake, but alas, it was too late. For he was already on the floor, massaging his forehead gently, he was already dead, but her headbutts still hurt! How many times has it been this week?

"How many times do I have to tell you? Don't call me that!" Ah, but atleast she's facing him again, in anger, yes, but still. Yashiro took a step and he desperately waved his arms around.

"Fine, fine! I surrender!"

"Good."

Yashiro picked up the mop again and quietly continued her work. The two settled into a comfortable silence. Amane sat at the windowsill, his favorite spot when watching her work.

He remembered Yashiro's words, 'Calling me here just to ditch me.' He quoted, well, he didn't actually ditch her, he was actually in a middle of a meeting, (which he forgot to tell her about, as for his brother's whereabouts, he didn't know) when he heard her call for them, the angry edge on her tone had him end the meeting in a rush. He remembered no. 1 looking at him with narrow eyes but he just shrugged them off.

He just couldn't bear the thought of her being genuinely upset with him. He always did have a soft spot for her.

'Amane!' A voice rang inside his head, 'Let's make a promise.'

'We'll always find each other, okay?'

A promise, moments before the tragedy.

Amane shook his head, washing away bittersweet memories. That doesn't matter now, she's here again. You can protect her again-

He knows he can't. Not when time itself is his enemy.

His eyes settled on his assistant's figure, her back was turned against him, floating quietly towards her, his hand snaked across her waist and his head rested on her shoulders.

Nene squeaked in surprise at the sudden contact but did not make a move. She quickly learned about the twin's love for skin contact, so she isn't that bothered about it. Besides, they're ghosts who hasn't had human contact in years, so she can atleast consider that.

He looks tired, she noted. Amane was unmoving against her, why is he suddenly like this? Her heart hammered against her chest, why is she like this? He's totally not her type!
