7 YEARS LATER

 May's POV:

'He's always trying to catch the master of the lake, and it's been one week since he first sat there, and he hasn't even slept since then. Guess I'm going to have to help him.'

I go to help my brother to catch the giant fish living in the lake 'I should scare him, it'll be way more fun!' Creeping up behind him, I yelled, Boo!!

"AHH-"Gon screamed, and almost fell into the river with surprised eyes. I laughed, but caught him in time.

"Gon, I was about to ask you if you wanted me to help catch this fish. I mean, we are going to become hunters together, no?"

He shook his head. "No thanks May. When we become hunters, we'll definetely go find dad! And, I want to do this by myself!"

Laughing, I said, "I didn't specify that when you'll become a hunter and I've said when the time will come I'll teach it when it will be important to our survival! And, this looks fun. So pleaseee?" I give him puppy dog eyes, and he chuckled, finally agreeing.

Sighing, Gon handed me a fishing rod. "Ok here is the fishing rod you are going to use."

He hands it over to me, and I grab it excitedly. Time to get started!

 45 minutes later

This is harder then I thought. This damn fish doesn't want to fall into the trap, it's getting on my nerves! Honestly, I think I'll give up. Tsk tsk. The fishing rod started to move a lot, and I gripped it harder. This was it! I had finally caught the master of the lake! It's very difficult to pull the rod out of the lake, so I go around the tree to catch him better. He flies out of the lake, still attached to my fishing rod. "YES! Gon look, I caught it!" Gon grins up at me. "Time to go show the Village!"

Timeskip to the village

"The villager scratched his head. "This fish is huge! Didn't expect you kids to actually catch it.."

"Agreed! The last time I saw it was 20 years ago and it was from her father, little girl." Another villager chipped in.

Everyone was surprised that a little girl actually CAUGHT the master of the lake. Aunt Mito made her way into the large crowd, and gave Gon and I a worried look.I only grinned back up at her.

"Mommy, look! I held my promise, now it's your turn. You must let us try the hunter exam!" Sighing, Mito thought to herself. 'I don't want my children to get hurt, but it is what they wished for, and I did make a promise.'

Timeskip later their all at Aunt Mito's house

"Ging's blood flows in their veins, his father became a hunter at this age, and I mean look at them! They practically look the same, and we can't do anything about it!" My grandmother stated to Aunt Mito.

"I know, mother. I just.. I see them as my own children, and I don't want to see them hurt!" Aunt Mito replied. "You know now that Gon and May know very well that their father is still alive, and I'm pretty sure they'll do anything to find him, Mito."
