Lazy Day

Umji's POV

It was morning. I woke up as the rays of the sun hit my face. Today is Lazy Day. Where we don't have anything planned and we get to spend the days inside our homes, either doing absolutely nothing or doing little things like watching a movie or reading books. It's the day where you get to enjoy the comfort of your own home.

I turned around and smiled as I see Suga sleeping soundly next to me. He loves these types of days because he likes doing nothing. Such a lazy turtle. I caressed his hair as I pecked his cheek and sat up so that I can make breakfast. As I tried to stand up, an arm pulled me back to bed.

"Good morning." He said in a hoarse tone.

"Good morning to you too." I replied. "And would you mind if you let go? I have to make breakfast."

"I don't want to." He said in a tone that you would hear when a child doesn't want to do something. He wrapped his arms around me tightly like a bear.

I let out a sigh. "Just because it's lazy day doesn't mean we do absolutely nothing. We can also do little things on lazy day but we have to have something to eat to fill our stomachs. Don't be such a lazy bum."

"No."

"Oppa." I called him in a stern tone. "Don't be stubborn."

"I really don't want to get out of bed." He mumbled.

"Me too. But I have to make breakfast."

"Stay with me." He pouted.

"I'm just going to the kitchen."

"Still don't want to."

"Oppa."

"No."

"Oppa."

"Nuh-uh."

"Suga-oppa."

In the end, he gave up. "Fine. I'll let you go just once. But you have to say it first."

"Say what first?" I teased, already knowing what he wanted me to say.

"Stop pretending like you don't know what I'm talking about."

I giggled. "Okay, okay. I love you, Oppa."

"I love you too, my adorable baby thumb." He showed me his gummy smile. "And a kiss before you go?"

"Where do you want it?"

"Right here." He pointed at his cheek. I leaned in but he moved his head so I kissed his lips instead. I looked at him grinning at me from ear to ear. "On second thought, I change my mind."

"Oppa!"

I was finally in the kitchen. It took me minutes to convince my lazy turtle to let me go. He can be really stubborn sometimes. Today I'm making fried rice and egg omelette for the both of us. As I stirred the fried rice on the pan, I felt a pair of arms snaked around my waist.

"Man, I love mornings like this. Especially on lazy day." He said as he rested his chin on my shoulder.

A smile appeared on my face. "Me too."

"I didn't want to get up though. The bed was really comfortable."

"Then why did you get up then?"

"To see if you were in the kitchen like you said you would." He kissed my neck.

I raised a brow. "And that's the only reason?"

"Well, my stomach betrayed me, okay? My baby thumb's cooking just smells so good." He pouted making me giggle.

"Then, I just have to thank your stomach and my cooking for getting a lazy bum like you out of bed."

"Whatever."

I let out a giggle. "You letting go or..."

"Why do you want me to let go? You don't want me that much?" He looked at me with sad eyes and a pout, acting hurt.

"I do want you. It's just that I'm cooking here and you might get burnt as well as the rice. But I promise that after eating, you can cuddle me all you want."

"Promise?" His voice muffled as he kissed my neck again.

"Promise."

"Okay. But you have to—"

"I know, I know. I love you, Oppa."

"I love you too, Umji-yah. Why not I'll set up the plates for you? Saves time."

"Thank you." I replied as he kissed my cheek and proceeded to put the plates on the table. After I was done, I set it up on a few plates to be put on the table.

"Thank you for the food." We said in unson as we started eating.

"This is really good!" He said while eating.

"See? That's what you get when you get out of bed. We should fill our stomachs so that we can have energy for the day."

"Yeah, yeah. I know..." he mumbled making me giggle. "You don't have any plans, right?"

"None at all, I promise you."

"Good. 'Cause I'm looking forward for this lazy day with my baby thumb." He gave me his signature gummy smile.

"Me too."

I was in the lounge room sitting on the couch while reading a book. Suga just entered and laid down behind me on the same couch, face down on a pillow after he was finished washing the dishes. That's right. I made that lazy turtle wash a couple of plates.

"How did you make me wash the dishes again?" He complained with a muffled tone.

"I did the dishes yesterday."

He turned to me. "You know that I don't like doing something on lazy day. You blackmailed me."

"Blackmailed you? Suga-oppa, I only told you that if you didn't do the dishes, I wouldn't give you any cuddles today."

"That's blackmailing. Plus, you used those sad puppy eyes against me." Wow, he's really that lazy.

I let out a sigh. "Okay, I'm sorry. I won't do it again."

"You mean it?"

I nodded.

"I'll let it slide just this once. Now come here." He said as he opened his arms. I let out a giggle as I laid down and moved closer to him, letting myself in his arms.

"Want to know why I love Lazy Day?"

"It's because you are a lethargic person that sleeps a lot and wants to be a rock in his next life?"

"Not that. Sheesh, you can be cruel sometimes." I giggled again in response. "The reason is that I get more time with you. I get to have you all to myself. I really mean it."

"I also feel the same way, Oppa. Spending more time with you is what I have always wanted. And nothing else."

"Is that so?"

"Of course." I locked my hand with his. "That aside, I want you to stop being sulky when I tell you to do something. I know that you like doing nothing but it's for your own good that you at least move so that you won't feel sluggish all the time."

"Are you my girlfriend or my mother?"

"I'm just looking out for you, that's all."

"I have to thank you for that." He nodded in agreement. "Man, you really know how to handle a person like me."

I felt a hint of sadness in his last words, so I turned around and faced him. "Don't say it like that. Taking care of the people I love is what I always love to do. And that includes my lazy yet sweet and caring turtle."

He let out a chuckle in response as he lovingly wraps his arms around me. "I hope days like this will never go away."

Me too...

I leaned closer to his chest with a smile on my face, feeling his warmth and his heart as we spend lazy day in each other's embrace.
