I had started acting more me now that I told myself man up and deal with it. Harsh I know but how else would I get over it. Tim would go to work and Troy would go to college with Joseph. I would be left alone with Brian. I didn't know why but being alone with him felt odd. We never spoke much or got along well. I always thought he just didn't like me. Until I woke up to screams of pain. My first thought was who is that. I ran down the stairs panicked to find Brian bloody and in his hoodie. "What happened?" I said getting a warm rag to clean to wounds. "Just let me help you. Take off your hoodie." I said attempting to reach the first aid kit. He stepped back as if he didn't trust me. I looked at him with concern and pulled a chair over for him to sit on. He slowly moved to sit limping slightly. He took off his hoodie and held up his arm. "Why are you helping me Tana? I thought you didn't like me." He said as I cleaned the largest cut along his arm. I felt him tense up as I cleaned it. "I never said I don't like you, I can't read you that's all." My sighs seemed like I wasn't enjoying this but in reality I loved helping him. He seemed to understand why I kept away, I was scared. Troy and Joseph walked in as I finished bandaging his leg. "What did we miss?" Troy said bewildered. I only shrugged walking away from the boys. I heard Brian say how he doesn't remember anything at all and how I cleaned him up and got him not bleeding. I cleaned up what mess I had made patching up Brian. I took his hoodie and my laundry to clean it up. I heard heavy boots on the floor. 'Tim is home early, what is going on?' I thought to myself throwing the last sock into the washing machine. I ran up the stairs to find them sitting in a semicircle on the living room floor. I knew what that meant, family meeting. I hated them for someone always brought up the incident. Brian and Tim moved as I sat down. "Hey kid, you look like a bus hit you." Tim said as he kissed my head. I laughed and nudged him. "Let's get started so I can get back to nothing." I said rolling my eyes. "Brian as we all know has had odd memory issues so we will be locking the back door to keep him from leaving that way." Joseph said calmly. We nodded and Tim said," I think we should bring up the nightmare issue too Joseph." I looked around to find all eyes on me. "What? You think it's my fault for being traumatized." I said slightly angered. Tim put a hand on my back. No one understood me. Troy looked like I just yelled very loudly. Brian and Joseph sighed. "We know it's not your fault, you can talk to us. We are family now. All of us. Brian, Troy and Joseph." Tim said hugging me. Why did he think that would help? I hugged him back letting some of it out. Troy took out his camera and started filming. "The new best family ever." He said. "That's what this is. Right daddy." Tim looked at him and stuck his tongue out. I laughed with Brian as he took the camera from Troy. We all smiled as I heard something outside. I said nothing. Joseph got up to go start making macaroni and cheese. The best little kid food ever. We all sat around the dining room table eating quietly until the door bell rang. Tim got the door and seemed confused until I heard the voice. My worst nightmare. The councilor. The most evil on the face of the earth. Or atleast in my case. I politely ran up the stairs to my room and locked the door. The closet just barely held me. I heard someone pound on my door and peeked to listen a bit. I heard what sounded like Joseph telling me to come out. I wasn't coming out. "Tana, I am not here to talk to you yet but the family. I will talk to you possibly another time." She said. I heard Tim yell at her "Just stay away from her. She will not be needing you anymore." I smiled a bit. Mom you miracle worker. A few moments later Tim came up and knocked on my door. "She's gone little lady. You can come out." I opened the door and creeped out. Tim smiled and the other guys stared confused at my reaction to it. My head stated to hurt. I would let them wonder as I went on the stairs and sat down and slid down the stairs. Slowly standing up I saw the thing again. Just by the window. I ran to the next room, our kitchen, to find nothing. 'What!?! I swear it...what?' I knew what I saw. Luckily Tim was still explaining how that counselor ruined my life. I went back to my headache cure hunt. I found an ibuprofen and took it dry. My other pills staring at me. One hour till having to take them. I close the door and hear the family stepping down to find a paled me. I had to lie. Not one would know. I would just blame the headache. I knew Joseph bought it but the other three were another story.
