Prompt: A figure appeared in the darkness: in the gleam of the moonlight, it was clear that it was holding a knife.

I stood in the alleyway, hands already on the ladder to my apartment when the shine caught my eye. It had become uncommon to get muggers around here. He must be new... Good, easier for me. I sighed and got off the ladder, slowly approaching the figure with an unkind smile on my face. Obviously, the figure was not prepared for a direct approach but spoke out nonetheless.

"You dare approach your doom?" They bellowed. A rookie mistake, really, calling attention to yourself. I continued to move forward as they held the knife out, ready to attack me. Their efforts would be futile.

They took the first swing, at my stomach, and way too low to hit anything anyway. I quickly dodged and threw a punch right at their nose making them stumble for a few seconds. They blindly swung the knife but their confusion gave me just enough time for a hard it to the head, knocking them unconscious in the dark.

I look around for the knife and only then register the sharp pain in my side. I let out yet another annoyed sigh while gritting my teeth and pulling it out. The wound started to heal itself as I examined the knife which was horrible. In my thousands of years, never had I seen a so terribly crafted knife. Tossing it aside and ignoring the blood now on the floor, I walked back to the ladder and made my way up. Dinner tonight will be takeout I guess.

A/N— haha I'm putting authors notes at the end of all of these and nobody is stopping me. So yea that was like 273 words that I spit out in the middle of the day and because it's in a notebook I just have this mass paragraph.

Besides that, like it said in the intro this stuff doesn't have to be good it's just to get you writing.

If anyone ends up using this prompt and wants to share what they wrote I would love to read it!
