Chapter two - Anna and Benjamin

November 9, the Year 2025

It's been four days since Maya last wrote in her diary. She didn't have anything to say. It's a little weird, you know. After her mom's death, they have all been very devastated. Some of them are still mourning. She thinks her dad has gotten over her mom's death.

"It's not a bad thing at all. As a daughter, I want my dad to be happy."

He started speaking to Maya again. They talked some things out. He revealed that he didn't blame her for what happened at all. It was just that he didn't feel like speaking since he loved Maya's mom very much.

Maya's dad's name is Benjamin. However, they call him Ben. He's a police officer. When Maya was little, he used to take her to work. He met Maya's mom while doing his job. It was love at first sight, kind of thing. They've been together for 19 years.

"I don't want to ask him too many questions. I want to give him some time."

Maya's brother's name is Jaxon, but they call him Jax. He is known for his stubborn personality. If he believes something, it takes a long time to change his mind. So, he still believes that Maya's the reason for mom's death.

"We never really got along."

About Ms. Anna, she went over to the Francis household yesterday. It's strange, but Benjamin looked joyful. He was happy to see her.

They went into the office. Maya got curious once again and started listening to them.

The only thing I could hear was,

"How are you going to tell the kids?".

Tell them what? Maya got confused.

"Did my father kill my mom with her childhood best friend? Why would he do that?"

Maya had many different questions for her dad to answer.

Benjamin opened the door and saw Maya standing there.

He went pale, almost like he had seen a ghost.

"Did you hear anything?" he mumbled.

"No. I just came." Maya muttered.

Benjamin nodded his head and came out of his office with Anna.

Anna smiled at Maya. She put her hand on Maya's shoulder and voiced,

"Goodbye, Maya. See you at school tomorrow."

She grabbed her coat and put it on while Benjamin opened the door for her.

Anna gave him a glorious smile.

"Goodbye, Benjamin." - She said with a lovely voice.

The next day, at school, she smiled at Maya. She gave her an A on a test she was sure she'd get a C on. Seemed a little like favoritism, but why?

"Are they hiding something? If so, what is it?"

Benjamin is suddenly cheerful. Anna is nicer. All of a sudden, I am her favorite student?

"No way! They're together, aren't they?'

Anna threatened Maya's mom, she killed her, and now she is stealing her husband?! Maya couldn't believe this lady.

"I have to warn my dad. Anna is a very dangerous woman. "

Maya knew she couldn't let them be together. She wanted her dad to be happy and safe. Which he couldn't be with Anna. Isabella would desire him to be cheerful. She wouldn't want to see him sorrowful, but is Anna the right one for him?
