Tessa parked the car on by the curb and took the key out of the ignition. She looked at me, and asked softly, "Is that his car?"

"Yes," I ran my fingers through my hair. "Shit, yes. That is Anthony's car. He's in there."

"Are you okay? Are you sure you want to do this today? We can come back-

"No, I want to do this. Right now. Now let's go before I change my mind."

"You go in, get your shit, and get the hell out of there. Remember, you do not owe him anything. Not an excuse, not an apology, not even to look him in the eyes. Try to avoid confrontation and conversation at all costs," Tessa encouraged me as we walked to the door.

I unlocked the door, and walked inside, seeing the groceries I had thrown still scattered about the kitchen floor.

"Pig," I muttered under my breath. "You stay here, Tess. I'm gonna go upstairs and get my stuff."

She nodded in approval and handed me a few garbage bags to stuff my things in. I took a deep breath as I ascended the stairs. I cringed as I realized that this time yesterday, I was walking up these very stairs, hearing moans coming from my- at the time- bedroom. I approached the door, and put my ear up to the door. I heard nothing.

I sucked my breath sharply, as I knocked on the door. No response. I knocked again. I waited a few seconds for a response. "It's open," I heard from behind the door. I swung open the door, and did not even acknowledge Anthony. I walked straight to the dresser and started stuffing my clothes into a white garbage bag.

"Elizabeth," he asked quietly. I ignored him. "Elizabeth," he repeated himself. "Elizabeth, listen to me."

"What the hell do you want from me," I asked with my back turned to him.

"I want to tell you I'm sorry. Jordyn, she means nothing to me. I messed up."

"Save your breath. I don't want to hear it," I said harshly.

"Elizabeth, listen. Since you left yesterday, I haven't left my bed. I haven't slept, I haven't eaten, I haven't even gotten up to piss."

"Oh, so she didn't come back in and finish you off," I said sarcastically.

"What? No. After you told her to leave, she did."

"Then why was she sitting on the steps when I left yesterday," I said with my back still turned to him. "She wasn't just waiting for me to leave, so she could come back in and you two could get back to fucking?"

"No, of course not."

"Mhm, I see," I grunted.

"Shit, Elizabeth, would you please just look at me so we can talk about this?"

"I have nothing to say to you. You're a disgusting pig, and I want nothing to do with you. I'm going to gather my things, and leave here and that will be the last of us."

"Elizabeth, please, give me another chance."

I stopped what I was doing and spun around to face him. "Another chance? Anthony, how do you expect me to trust you again? I was never, not once, unloyal to you. I never even thought about kissing someone else. Whereas you go off fucking other girls. How do I know she wasn't the only one? There were probably at least two others. I don't see why you felt the need to screw other girls."

"Babe, Elizabeth, I love you."

"Do not call me 'babe.' You do not have the privilege anymore. And if you truly loved me, you wouldn't fuck other girls just because I'm not around when you're all hot and bothered." I got back to shoving my clothes in the bag.
