TRIGGER WARNING
implied suicide.✽ ✽ ✽
As the waves of the ocean hit against the rocks and the water reflects the rays of sun, there stands a girl on a cliff amidst the scenery. Even though the tips of her fingers were red and her body was trembling from the icy graze of the wintery wind, she kept staring at the wide, wide sea. Everything was cold and grey yet the blue of the ocean and the sky that became one at the horizon made her feel warm inside. Oh, how much she desires to become one with the thing she truly loved.
Day and night she would stand there to admire the artful scenery all the while neglecting everything — her surroundings, her desires, her emotions. There wasn't much that bothered the girl anymore. There was only one thing in her world of grey that was worth her attention — this mysterious deep sea blue.
"Careful, you might fall", she was warned. But the girl didn't care. She stood close to the edge of the cliff, every time a little bit closer to feel the chilly breeze caress her pale skin. Even though it was cold, even though she was freezing, it was the resounding voice of the sea that kept alluring her to this one place. Drawn to the only color left in her world, of course she would rather gaze at the one thing that brought a smile on her lips than to return to a world of emptiness.
One day, when the sky was covered in grey clouds, when the wind was stronger and colder than usual, the girl looked up as a small, fragile, snowflake fell down gracefully from above. It landed on her nose — immediately melting the moment it touch her skin. How sad for something so beautiful to last for not even a second. More snowflakes floated in the air as they got carried away by the wind at the same time, dancing with one another. One as beautiful as the other in their own ways, together creating an aesthetically pleasing view. Almost as aesthetic as the blue ocean.
Tempted by its beauty, the girl rose her arms, her palms directed towards the sky. If only the snow's elegance could last forever.
One step. One step was all it took for her to fall into the depth. Even though she knew that getting a hold of those frozen flakes would result in their loss, that taking one more step would result in her own downfall, she still did it. For once in long, she gave in to her desires — and she regrets nothing.
What used to be below her feet was now suddenly so up high. In a desperate attempt, she kept reaching her hand out, trying to grasp those mesmerizing snowflakes until the very end. It wasn't long until her small body was completely embedded in the arms of the ocean. However, the water felt surprisingly warm. No, it wasn't that. It was her flaming passion burning inside her heart that kept her warm. And with a genuine smile, the girl closed her eyes as she sunk deeper and deeper in what she loved the most — the deep blue sea.
