Another week
We're all sitting in the choir room as Schue writes something on the board. "All right. We need $5,000 to pay for our trip to Nationals in New York."
"What happened to the money that we got from the Cheerios?" Quinn asks.
We all look over to Rose who is back in her Cheerios uniform and she just shrugs.
"I guess Sue was hiding it in offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands and we're having some trouble accessing some of it. Any of it. This is salt water taffy." He tells us holding a piece up.
"Ugh, I love salt water." Britt says and I laugh.
"When I was a student here, we paid for our entire trip to Nationals, selling this. Classroom to classroom, door to door." He says as he tossed me one. "We pushed this stuff like crack. And so we will. So, to make $5,000 at 25 cents a piece, we need to sell 20,000 pieces of taffy." He says pointing at the board. I just shove the taffy in my mouth. Yummy. I notice Rose isn't eating hers so I grab it and eat it.
"Wait, doe you honestly think that we can sell 20,000 anything's? I mean, we won regionals for the first time since dinosaurs roamed the planet, and I still got a freaking cherry Icee facial." Tana says. Damn I felt that.
"I agree with Santana. Nobody cares about us." Quinn says with a laugh.
Mike quickly gets up and Schue notices, "Mike, you okay?"
"No. You guys complain all the time about being mistreated, but you have no idea what it's like to work your hurt off for something and have everyone, even your friends, ignore you. Artie, Tina, Brittany and I are on the Brainiacs." He tells us.
"Isn't that the Academic Decathlon team?" Rachel asks.
"Wait, we have one of those?" Finn asks with his mouth full.
"Yes, we do. And the four of us went on The Smartypants Show, and beat Carmel High to go to the Academic Decathlon Finals in Detroit next week." Artie says.
"What? You guys were on TV? Well, why didn't you tell us about it?"
"They did." I tell them at the same time as they said We did. "I watched you guys were awesome."
"Wait, I get the three of you being on the team..."
"Is it because two of them are Asian and Artie wears glasses?" Puck interrupts.
"No... but Brittany?" Schue looks at them confused. And I notice Britt look down aw I'll have to talk to her later.
"Liz Schneider was our fourth but she got Rubella." Mike informs us.
"Her parents are hippies who don't believe in vaccinations." Tina adds in.
"Brittany was the only person we could find on such short notice. Sadly, we can't afford to go to the finals, so we're gonna have to forfeit." Artie says.
"Why don't you just have your parents pay for it?" Rachel asks.
"Because we shouldn't have to. We're a school club. The school should pay for it. It's a matter of pride." Tina speaks out.
"You guys are absolutely right. How much do you need to make the trip?" Schue asks them.
"With gas and motels, and if we only eat Funyuns, uh, $250." Tina answers.
"Which means... we just need to sell more taffy." He tells us happily. Ugh kill me now.
Time skip
We're back in the choir room. Schue tells us that we are now doing songs only by neglected artists. Oh so basically every country singer ever.
"Because it's A Night of Neglect." He tells us for clarification.
"Can you define what you mean by neglected artist?" Berry asks.
"Um, someone whose brilliance isn't always appreciated." He answers her.
"Oh, so you mean like me." She says and I roll my eyes so hard at that girl.
"I mean all of us. All right, everyone, next Saturday night, in our auditorium, McKinley High's first annual Night of Neglect fundraiser benefit is officially a go!" Schue tells us enthusiastically. We all clap. I have no clue who I'm going to sing. Wait maybe I do.
Time skip
So apparently everyone is in the auditorium because Sunshine is here. I quickly rush in just in time for Quinn to speak. "Yeah, but you're in Vocal Adrenaline. How do we know we can trust you?"
"Because I have nothing against any of you. I have 600 Twitter followers. I can get them all to come." She says to us.
"How many tickets have we sold so far?" Finn asks.
"Four. No ones interested. It's just sad." Puck says.
"Please, just let me show you what I can do. I would like to sing the perfect song about neglect, All By Myself. I'm such a better singer than everyone else, so I know how it feels. I'm all alone at the top. Also, I'm really short. So even when I'm in a group of people, it feels like I'm wondering alone through a forest." Sunshine goes on.
"There's no way that she's singing in our auditorium, okay? She's the enemy." Rachel try's to stop us.
"I say we give her a chance. I mean, you owe her, Rachel. You sent her to a frickin crack house." I speak up causing people to look over at my surprised and confused on how I got here.
