Hazel's POV

These past few days went slow but fast. My only friend was the redhead who was named Lara. She was way chirpier than my dead soul but it worked. We were sitting for lunch together and she started explaining me the school stats.

"First we have the rich kids." She made a big 'L' on the top of her forehead and that made me smile. I didn't know what her deal was with them but my dad always taught me to never judge a person by their stats but this school was proving him wrong.
I sipped my juice  which wasn't good considering the big fat amount everyone paid to get into here. I zoned out of Lara's convo staring at the cheerleaders. Their uniform was so short and the neckline was way too low that it was clear they were flashing every guy there.
I mentally cringed.

"Helloooo! Earth to Hazel! Are you paying atte-"
But she gets interrupted when the cafeteria door opens.

"And that's Adrian Rivera. The badboy and Devil in one." She finishes biting her sandwich.

It's the same guy who pushed my papers off. "Oh" is all that comes out of my mouth.
He surely has good looks and those grey eyes are like a cherry on the top. But he very clearly knows that by the way the cheerleaders drool at him at the second.

I look at my watch hurriedly realising its 11:01 am and I have to collect my math assignment. I wave at Lara and reach the cafeteria door knowing I'm blocked.
I look to see up and it's Adrien himself. I put my gaze down wanting nothing to do with this guy cause he was full of trouble.  I try to go the other way but he's swift. The whole cafeteria's attention is on us.
I close my eyes. I hate this.

He suddenly leans in and I put both my hands on his chest and push him back. Who does he think he is?!
I try to go out but he catches my wrist and turns me towards him.
" Don't try to cross paths with me once again or you'll be punished." He says in his deep voice.

He's holding my wrist not too tight but I can't release myself. After realising, what he's doing he lets go and I storm out of the door.
He was the one blocking my path! How rude.

I've never had much interaction with guys except a friend I had in my old school. I dropped my previous phone in the pool and lost all my contacts. Since then I couldn't get in touch with him. We used to spend a lot of time together. All the girls there liked him and so no one agreed to be my friend. It was always him and I. Now even though I have Lara I feel out of place. I shrug my thoughts away and head to collect my assignment.
-------
Shawn pats me on the head as I get him food.
"Don't think I've forgotten that you didn't drop me to school." I mumble while licking my brownie ice cream. I loved these since you got both cake and ice cream together.

"Okayy." He says. " What do you want me to do?"

" Give me your car for a week!" I say cruelly.

Shawn loved his car since we had only one in the family. It was a pass me down from my dad but it was enough for us.
"But. Just for A WEEK." He gives up. He looks so sad I want to hug him.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I yell and run upstairs to call Lara and tell her.
-----------
I drive Shawn's car the next day and feel amazing. Driving was a huge part of my life. Last year at California I used to drive race cars with my best friend, Ace. He was the one who taught me. I couldn't let my family know since it was risky. It was just our "little secret."
I tug my strand of black hair behind my ear as I head to school. I feel someone following me but there's no one. I'm wearing black jeans with a white tshirt having a picture of an Ace card which is my absolute favourite.
"Hey! That tee looks so cool." Lara says happily.

"Thanks Lara. At least my fashion sense isn't that bad."

She scoffs playfully and we both start laughing.
----------
I head towards English hating that knowing I loved the subject I hated the guy who I had to sit besides. Adrian Rivera. There was no other seat left. I was screwed. I internally yelled at the Gods. This whole while I could feel his gaze on my chest. I felt uncomfortable. I quickly grabbed a jacket from my bag and zipped it up. He just couldn't keep his eyes where they belonged.

" Seems like you got your chance to sit beside me." He says with a devilish smirk.

"Oh please. If I had a chance I would sit anywhere but beside you." Shit. I said those words aloud. They were supposed to remain in my head.

" You need to calm down that attitude of yours Hazel." Adrian whispers in my ear. He was too close to me this second and he was giving me chills.
I kept my eyes straight. Don't let him get to you.

"Change that shirt after class ends." He says and walks out as the bell rings.
I was definitely not going to change it. I tucked my jacket in my bag and walked down the hallways. I was near the exit when-
"Oops. I'm so sorry."

I feel my chest soaked up. There was orange juice running down me at the moment. I was furious. Moreover, it spoiled my shirt. I look up to see a cheerleader who was definitely not sorry for her actions. She struts her heels and makes her way towards Adrian who kisses her.
I wasn't dumb to understand that he was the one who did it. My hate for him increased to a new extent. I didn't realise I was glaring daggers at him.
"Hey are you Hazel Lockwood?" says a guy with brown eyes and messy brown hair. He looks nice.

"Uh yeah?" I look down at my drenched shirt.

"The office asked me to send you. And oh-" he says staring at my shirt.

"Just move out of my way." I say heading in a pissed mood to the office.
