a zoom love poem

your room.

a blood red blur

posters plastered to the ceiling

window halfheartedly flung open

sun filtering in

kissing your silhouette

wrapping you in a halo of gold

a dark angel in disguise

..

i'll never forget

when the sun touched

your

tousled caramel curls

satin soft

midnight at first glance

golden cocoa powder

the next

wild dreams

tucked beneath

a blue beanie

...

oh,

and those

fox-like

silver

Mediterranean eyes

a kaleidoscope of greens and blues

speckled with the colors of the night ocean

burning-

burning

unspoken words

into my skin

....

that

cinnamon

honey skin

soft and blushed

like the pink petals

of spring tulips

sitting prettily

on that milk chocolate brown

forever summer skin.

.....

and

your

baritone,

cello voice

dark fudge rich

words

s p i l l i n g

out of those

crisp, autumn

red lips

your murmurs

d ri p p i n g

like melted dark chocolate

sweet honey molasses

soft and

warm

warm

warm

warmth was all i felt

unthawing this cold heart of mine

and perhaps i'm

c ra zy

but,

i could already feel

your beautiful june flowers

peeking through

the softened earth

of my heart
