Chapter 3 - Noah

Creaakk. I opened the slightly worn front door and stepped into the darkness of the night. Luckily, the stubbornness I call my sister wanted to go to work despite of what happened, and... I needed to do this. I had been such a fucking hermit these past years making Antonia do stuff for me because I was such a bastard that couldn't take the truth!

Clearing my already fucked up mind I began running towards and through the woods. As I ran further in I could smell them, them people who think they should take Antonia and me. Obviously, that's not what I wanted. I tried to forget about it and just thought about doing the "right" thing.

As I reached an opening I stared at the barn that sat on the other side of woods, inspecting the brightly lit up insides seeping through the gaps between the wooden panels that made it up. The "people" inside began howling in unison, the sounds echoing across the surroundings, birds fluttering out of the trees flying away in fright. It made the already creepy atmosphere eery.

I had had enough of waiting, I charged for the door and opened it only to find fourteen pairs of golden eyes staring at me. "I wondered when you'd be back," a deep voice pounded, a man with a lot of tattoos walked up to me. "I'm glad you are." The man looked behind me like he was hoping to see something... or somebody. But I knew who.

"She isn't here," I growled. "I am not bringing her here because I know what you'll do."

"Do what? It's what she needs!" I looked around the man to see Marian glaring at me.

"You... people... forced this onto me! Do you think I want this for Antonia?!" I shouted eyeing everyone in the barn. Suddenly, Lysander came towards me and grabbed my arm.

"Calm. Down," he whispered, his voice so low that they couldn't even hear. Lysander motioned his eyes to the big door that I had just walked through. Following him we left the barn, everyone's gaze still following me.

We walked into the silence of the night Lysander closing the worn barn door shut with only the sound of crickets. "If you carry on and do something stupid, no one will hesitate to kill you," said Lysander darkly his voice still low. "And it is up to Antonia if she wants to. But I understand how you feel." I rolled my eyes and moved my fingers through my hair.

"Please, enlighten me," I sneered sarcastically staring at Lysander analyzing his desperate face.

"I remember when they forced your awakening on you," he began. "How you wanted kill everything and... yourself." Lysander had always been like this, understanding, empathetic. I sighed and avoided his stare. Then he began to walk away towards the building. I took a deep breath and thought about Antonia, finally deciding I moved past Lysander and joined the rest of the wolf pack. I was only doing this for Antonia. Only for her.

Antonia

I took a deep breath in through my nose letting the crisp, cool air run through me. I watched the yellow and red leaves being blown across the silent parking lot which had fallen from the trees throughout the autumn weeks. "Bonjour, ma soeur!" Natalie shouted at the top of her voice behind me in a her attempt to speak french. I swear the birds in the calm trees fled when she shouted. Lucky.

"Since when am I your sister?" I said slightly amused as I watched her sit down beside me on the cold steps of the building.

"It was the only thing I could think of," she shrugged flinging her pale arm around my shoulders, her hand resting on my forearm. "And what's wrong? You just left and came out here... power walking!"

"I just had a headache," I lied trying incredibly hard not to look at Natalie's concerned look that could see right through me if I looked at them. Really, my ears started to ring... a really high pitched noise, I didn't have a headache. The only reason that I have for not telling the bloody truth was because it happens nearly every night, especially on full moons. It's becoming continuous just like my stupid nightmares. All of sudden Natalie's warm palm came into contact with my forehead.

"Hm. You don't seem ill, but your making me doubt it because you never wear the proper uniform," she nodded towards my clothes and got up and skipped back into the building giggling to herself. I looked down and examined the fitted black t-shirt which had the "Kennicky's Bar & Grill" logo printed on it and a pair of red shorts. Blehh! But after last nights fiasco with them stupid boys, wearing this uniform is necessary.

I closed my eyes trying to clear my mind and forget about that stupid vampire, that is dead! But I wasn't scared of the vampire because he can't hurt me but there are most definitely vampires out there who will. Honestly, I'm surprised there aren't zombies because half the town look like the living dead. I giggled to myself.

"Baby, I hope you read a funny joke not gone mad because that would not be good for business," I swung around a little embarrassed as I saw Max towering over me. I jumped up and straightened myself out. "And I don't pay you to sit on your ass," he teased spanking my bum as I walked through the door.

I threw myself onto my chair behind the counter and poured myself a glass of vodka and lemonade. As I gulped down half of the drink I watched Annaiese and her two kids walk in and towards me. I hid the drink and stood up ready to greet her. The ginger haired lady came here quite often maybe because her husband worked in the kitchen. She and her husband had a pair of twins, a boy called Kai and a girl called Rosie, both with their mother's ginger hair. They reached the bar and I walked round to them, the twins jumping up and literally dragging me to the floor. "Hi guys!" I said as the twins clutched onto me.

"Hi Antonia, I just thought I'd stop by - like I normally do," Annaiese shrugged. I looked round the bar and saw Natalie "flirtatiously" talking to a guy sitting at the far end table. He looked really weird, like those very deceiving murderers who pick up girls and kill them after raping them. Urrgh, bad thoughts! "Antonia?" I shot my head towards Annaeise realising I had just been staring across the room whilst I was dazed. She stood there with a motherly worrying look wiped on her face.

"Oh, yeah. I was just looking around," I lied.

By ten thirty Nat's shift ended. Lucky bitch. However, she wasn't alone; she was walking hand-in-hand with the strange man from earlier. I mean I didn't want to stop her because that would look even more weird than when Mr Bollingbrook "accidentally" fell and grabbed some girl's boobs.

I'm pretty sure that was on purpose. I watched the two leave as I agonisingly wanted to do a full inspection of his guy, details and all before he hook up with Nat. Max sat himself down on one of the stools on the other side of the counter.

"Normally I'd be eye-fucking that booty-liscious guy," he began still staring at the door they had just left through.

"What's your point?" Max turned around to face me.

"I never got to," said Max rolling his eyes. I stared at him confused still not picking up what the hell he was putting down.

"What?" I said weakly, annoyed at myself for not getting what Max was saying.

"Oh. Mama gotta go, I need to be "somewhere", so can you lock up?," he jumped off the seat. "Somewhere being up some mother fuckers ass," he said walking out the door. I've known that bitch for two years and I still don't get him sometimes... like now.

After the last few people stumbled helplessly out of the bar after I practically demanded them to go, I cleaned up and un-tied my apron. The bar was incredibly creepy after hours because no one is around, inside and out. Shows just how exciting this place is. I put my leather jacket on before turning off the lights and locking up.

As I turned the key I noticed that my hands kept slipping off the rusty old key. Confused, I turned my hands over to show my blood stained hands and I stumbled backwards onto the cold, hard ground beneath me. Miraculously the blood was gone like my skin had soaked it all up. "I'm just tired," I tried to convince. Without thinking I grabbed the keys and ran to my car and the only car in the empty parking lot.

I struggled to open my car but then managed to fall in and drive as fast as I could from the place. Subconsciously I was driving way over the speed limit, lucky for me the stupid people who call themselves "cops" weren't there to arrest me for speeding. It was getting harder and harder to see as rain started to pour down, but as I drove down the curvy roads I saw something on the ground. But more like SOMEONE. Panicking I smashed my foot down onto the accelerator. There wasn't anybody there.
