***Kara's P.O.V.***

How can I tell him? How can I explain the other side of me? All these years I've been hiding, in the darkness, this girl that only comes out when I sing. He's heard me sing, but I never got to explain how I sing like that. Sometimes, she comes out when my original self needs to rest. She knows that I'm an extremely shy little girl, but at the same time, she sort of understands me. We converse a lot. Although, she can be much more... hostile than me. I've learned to control her though when I found out about her when I was going into my teenage years. She also shows up when I show different emotions.

Ever since I met Scott, when I was a little girl, he was such an amazing friend. We went to the same school from pre school all the way up to U.S.C. During this period, I developed a big crush on him. I became friends with Mitch, Kirstie, Avi and Kevin very quickly. They know my talent, but they also don't know how it works. Here I am, in the studio, belting out the words to these songs with my best friends, having the time of my life. But one day, I'll tell them. Including him.

"That was awesome Kara. Let's take a few minutes for a break.", said Sarah, the one behind the controls.

I took the headphones off and hung it on the microphone. Everyday when I'm in the studio, I close my eyes when I sing. Remember, she comes out when I sing. When she's present, my eyes change colours from my normal dark brown eyes to a silvery-blue colour. Thankfully, when I finish singing, my eyes return to the normal dark brown. I exited the room and saw Scott sitting in the couch on his phone. He's in a sleeveless green shirt, faded blue jeans, with a green and black snapback. He looked so attractive, like he does everyday.

He looked up from the phone as soon as Sarah left the room. He turned his head to his left (my right) to look at me. He gave me a genuine smile.

"Hey, stranger", he said.

"Acquaintance of mine...", I replied softly with a giggle. I sat beside him to his left.

"You know, your twenty-first birthday is tomorrow, right?", he informed me.

"Yeah, so?"

"Aren't you gonna go out?"

"I don't plan to." He turned his body to me

"Come on Kara. You're going to be legal in less than twenty-four hours."

"But I'm not that type of person. You know that. This soon-to-be twenty-one year old virgin is fine staying in her house watching Spongebob with a carton of ice cream." I rested my head on his lap.

"Suit yourself, loner. I'll be on a date while you spend time alone." Sometimes, I wish I was his girlfriend. I try not to think about the girlfriend he's had for almost a year. When I do, she comes up.

'Ain't that a bitch though...'

Ugh, why did she spoil it?

'I came here to talk girl. Don't get on my wrong side'

'You're my wrong side'

'Correct. Anyway, you'll make your move one day'

'What are you talking about'

'Ocean eyes, that's what. He looks like I could get a nice f.uck from him'

'Back off, he's mine'

'Oh, so you are overprotective'

'Shut up'

"Kara! Kara!"I  heard Scott calling you.

"Huh, huh, what?", I replied, while raising from his lap, confused as to why he was calling me that way.

"Sarah's going to Starbucks. She wants to know what you want."

"Oh, um...the regular."
