My mom died three years ago. She had leukemia. My dad knew that she was going to die. I remember that day so distinctly. She was in the hospital room but she was lying down, not so propped up. She was breathing thin tiny breaths and her face looked so pale. I remember walking slowly into her room. I was scared at what was going to happen. "Addeline," she said so softly. Before I knew it, I was in her arms. I've never felt such love before in my life in that moment. My father sitting at the end of the bed holding her hand. "Remember that God will always be with you. He loves you and will always love you. Be good and be true to him and he will always look out for you. He will protect you from the evil and give you glory," she told me. "I will strive to my best, Mom. I promise," I said meaning it with all of my heart. I remember Dad looking so soulfully into her eyes. You could tell that they dearly loved each other. They were the perfect couple. Its as if my mom and dad carried on a conversation with their eyes. I love you so much, he said. I love you too, she said. He said (aloud of course), "I'll miss you." She smiled and squeezed my dad's hand. She lightly rubbed my back and that's when she closed her eyes softly and died.
