Nora walked down the empty hallway holding onto three thin books for her tutoring session with Ms Tarvins, every step towards the room only worsened the twisting pain she felt in her stomach as her cold hands held the books tight against her chest. She fought back the intensifying urge to begin bawling her eyes out as Charlie's words echoed thunderous yet sharp and clear in her mind. They wounded her more now than when she had first heard them, for when Charlie stood in the refectory screaming at her less than an hour ago, the rush of being in the moment had made each insult hurt less somehow. But now that Nora was alone and had time to comprehend exactly what he had said, she thoroughly understood each aggressive remark and they hit at her heart like a needle decorated hammer as his words gradually grew louder in her head.

"They were right weren't they?" Charlie's voice spoke, reverberating in her ears. She shook her head, trying to push it out of her mind as she bit her lip to stop it from trembling.

"You're just as insane as everyone else thinks you are" Charlie's voice echoed, she bit down harder on her lip as she forcefully resisted the whimpers that wanted so desperately to escape her throat.

Nora soon found herself at the door of Ms Tarvins' room, she took a deep breath in and exhaled hard in an attempt to suppress the throat straining pain she felt. She shut her eyes and took another deep breath before knocking on the door with a few taps, her eyes quickly opened to the sound of the door creaking open.

"Hello Miss Kane" Ms Tarvins said, her voice toneless and strict as Nora slowly walked into the room and closed the door behind her.

"Hello" Nora replied as she walked over to the single desk that sat in the middle of the room, she placed her books on the desk and pulled out the chair to sit down.

"Now, do you remember what I said a few weeks ago in Hodinby", Ms Tarvins began as she walked closer towards Nora, "I think you are ready".

As Nora sat with discomfort she tried to avoid the intense gaze of the slim tall woman in front of her, she lowered her head looking at the books on her desk. She remembered their exchange clearly, as if it had happened yesterday and not almost two weeks ago.

Ms Tarvins sat alone in Fumos at a wooden table, holding a dark coloured book firm in her hands, with thin rectangular glasses over her eyes. Nora entered the small cafe with Mr Miles walking by her side, except she almost always called Mr Miles by his first name Caspian and was the only one who did. He had been telling her about his first year class, and how it made him smile seeing the ignis prodigies realising the blades didn't have the power to pierce their skin.

"The confidence just booms, you know? I can see it in their eyes" Caspian said, his tall figure walking close to Nora as he glanced at her every now and then to admire her smile.

"You would have loved seeing William's face when Harkness told him to catch the cutting knife we had in the kitchen" Nora began, she was giggling as she spoke, "It was before Dostira, he caught it almost screaming and pulled the funniest face when he realised his hand was perfectly fine when he was griping onto the blade".

Caspian chuckled as he walked by her side, she felt safe with him and wasn't afraid to be herself. He was one of the few people in Dostira that didn't seem to fear her powers and around him she didn't have to put up her usual walls to hide herself.

Her fingertips brushed his, as they entered Fumos and Caspian found himself staring at Nora at the warmth of her touch. Eager to intertwine his hands with hers, his fingertips twitched by his side. He brushed his hand against hers with his fingers slowly finding their way into Nora's palm, his hand then ravelled into hers as he looked down at her blushing face that fought back a smile.
