Who's Chris?

The world is white.  A brilliant white light shines into my eyes.  Am I dead?  Did I really fall that hard down the stairs?

"Good, you're awake!"  I open my eyes and see the school nurse standing in front of me, shining a flashlight.  She shakes her long black hair and leans away.  "Are you okay, honey?  You hit your head on the bottom of the stairs and your blond friend Chris brought you down here."  Oh, I'm in the nurses office, aren't I?

Who's Chris?  "Who's Chris?" I say.

"I'm Chris."  The blond boy that Kay had tried setting me up with is sitting in a chair by the window.  Now that I see him better, I realize he is actually pretty cute.  He's wearing a grey hoodie, black jeans, and Nike shoes.  I look down and realize I am wearing a grey shirt and black pants as well.  Ugh, I really hate matching with people.

"How's your head, babe?"  Chris walks over to me, and I try to not burst out grinnning at the fact that he called me babe.  It's been my dream ever since I started noticing boys for someone to call me babe.  I don't know why.  It just doesn't make sense.  Why would someone leave a country packed with ponies to come to a non-pony country?  It just doesn't make sense...am I right?  I shake my head, trying not to escape into Movie-and-TV-Show-Quoting-Mode.

"It's feeling better, I guess." I wince, as a sharp pain cuts through my brain.  I look around the room, as I've never been in the medical room before.  The bed I'm lying on is very white and clean.  There is a small desk, that Mrs. Daley - the nurse - is sitting at, a window the size of a Mac computer, and two chairs.  Simple, but effective.  "May I leave, Mrs. Daley?  How much school have I missed?"

"Well, it's actually 3:00 right now."  She says, turning away from her computer.  Oh, dang, Lee!  I really, really hope he's not waiting for me.  Yeah, I guess I'm not getting my butter pecan cone today. Jumping up from the bed, I yell my thanks to the nurse, and rush out the door.  I run down the hallway, only stopping at my locker, which is luckily very near, to grab my backpack, and hurry to the parking lot, running to Lee's red car.

"Where were you?"  he asks me, looking up from his iPhone.  "I looked everywhere, and none of your friends knew either."

"I was in the nurse's office."  I say, as he starts to pull away from the school.

"WHAT?" Well, looks like we're not driving anymore.

"Mmmmmhmmmmm.  I fel down the stairs and Chris What's-his-name, the new kid in my class, found me and took me to Mrs. Daley.  But I'm alright now, I just passed out.  So you don't have to freak out, keedoke?  We can start driving anytime you want."  I look down at my phone, seeing I just got a new text, but I don't recognize the number.  I open the text, and a grin slowly forms on my face.

Hey it's chris tyler, the guy in your class...i just was in the nurses office with you...hope you don't mind but i kinda put your # in my phone

Of course I don't mind!  A cute guy just texted me!  Okay, Rae, what are you doing?  You like Lee, not Chris.  You barely know Chris!  And speaking of Lee, he's driving you to get ice cream!  Oh, I love the conversations I have with my mind.

Hey Chris!  Of course I don't mind:)

Okay good!  So yeah we just met but do u wanna like hang out or something?

Errmygersh!  He wants to hang out with me!  Still attached to my phone, I get out of the car, only to run smack into something hard.
