Eileen's POV:
I strongly believe that I was destined to be one with art. I love art, in every single one of its forms. Whether it be photography, paintings and drawings, music, literature, even as far as the intricate minds of people, I'm in love with art. In fact, I've dedicated my entire life to it. I mostly write music, which is my main focus at the moment, but while i'm touring the world looking for inspiration and playing music for others, I paint and take photos of amazing things along the way.
"Eileen Rose if you don't hurry your ass up we are going to be late!" I hear my best friend Heather yell. She goes everywhere with me, I don't think my shy and anxiety ridden self could do anything without her.
"Okay okay! I'm hurrying" I rush over to my guitar and throw it over my shoulder, accidentally hitting Heather in the head with the head of the guitar. She glares at me and playfully gives me the finger before opening the door to my apartment.
"Are you nervous?" I hear Heather ask.
"Not really, I'm confident in my skills. But I'm worried about working with new people". Truth is, I'm terrified. I'm going to the Sunshine studio in downtown New York City to work on some songs and come up with some cover art for The 1975's upcoming album. I actually came up with the idea for the box a long time ago, so I've met them briefly before but I don't exactly remember them which makes me even more anxious.
"What if they don't like me or they think my ideas are bad? Or what if they don't want any help and fire me? And what if th-" she didn't ge to finish because Heather interrupted.
"E, you're going to be fine. They'll love you, Ive never met anyone who doesn't. Look, you have one of the most creative minds I've ever met, I have no doubt in my mind that they'll think you're brilliant okay?" she looks over from her drivers seat and smiles widely with a sympathetic look in her eyes.
"Okay, I hope you're right. And thank you" Although her words smooth my fears a smidge, I still have this knot in my stomach and my tongue feels all tingly. I look over at her, she's still looking at me and I smile and blow her a kiss.
No more than ten minutes later, we arrive outside the studio. The building is somewhat tall with an abundance of windows. The sign reads 'Sunshine Studios' with a small sun next to the word studios. Overall the place looks inviting, which also helps calm her down. This could be good, I could be good.
"Okay babes, you ready?" Heather asks in a cheery voice.
"Mmm I guess I am, do you think it's too late for a rain check?" she asks only partly joking.
"No way in hell. This will be good for you, I'm sure you'll have fun. Call me if you need me, Im only seconds away. Love you!" She beams while basically shoving me out the door.
"Fine, Love you too!". I mumbles while nervously stumbling out of the car. Sometimes it's great to have such a supportive pushy best friend, other times her pushiness really pushes her buttons.
After shutting the car door with a small bit of force, I looks up at the door to the building. I take a deep breath and push forward. Next to the door, there are a small arrangement of yellow and pink flowers which make her smile while she walks through the door. Flowers always make me smile.
"Hi, you must be Eileen!" a tall man greets her seconds after she steps foot in the building. He has a cute beige sweater and ripped jeans on, he looks cozy and relaxed.
"Hi! Yeah I am, I'm looking for The 1975?" I greet him warmly, first impressions are important.
"Right this way, I'm Adam, I'm from The 1975. The boys just sent me out because they said you'd probably be confused on where to go." he says softly in response. He seems kind of shy, I think we could get along pretty well.
"Oh, um this is my first time here. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't a little nervous."
"Honestly you have nothing to be worried about we're pretty easy to get along with, I bet you'll fit right in." he says with a reassuring smile. I lightly smile back, though now I'm a little calmer, which is strange considering I'm following a stranger into a room or even more strangers. Adam leads me down a wide hallway with four or five doors along the walls. We walk into the second one on the right, the door has a small black plaque that reads 'The 1975' on it. As he opens the door, a strange blue light cascades over the white floor of the hallway, causing me squint a little when I look up into the room. I notice that the light is on a random color mode, because not even five seconds later the light in the room turns a purple then red color. I look around the room and see three other men looking at me.
