Prologue

     I'm not human. No matter how hard I try to fit in, I will always be different. My kind is rare. We were just a science experiment gone terribly wrong. If you look at me you can't tell that anything is wrong with me, but I'm only the same as you in appearance. I'm a freak. Few know my secret and what I can do.

     The population of my kind has increased since we were first created in 2012. We were protectors, made to save the human race from the end of their world. After they were put out of danger, we were meant to be destroyed. The few of us that had survived the attack from the humans scattered and went into hiding. We knew our mission was not yet completed. One creature still threatened the lives of our creators and we weren't giving up until all was safe for them again.

     I know only a few Hunters and Huntresses that survived. Sometimes I see them as I move around the globe, tracking Kathleine. Our leader has told us that all hope is lost. We can't save the human race from her. She doesn't even have to touch us to kill us. She'll slowly kill the loved ones around us until we go mad and kill each other, but I'm not giving in. I vowed to be the one to bring an end to Kathleine.

     My name is Rayvin Starr. I've lived through all the terrible things this world has seen. I was one of the first, and I will be one of the last. Kathleine will fall, and when she does, I can proudly say I was the one to push her from her throne.
