She's special. Allison, I mean.

And it's not just because of the way she tasted differently amongst the other women I had brought in bed but because she was really special. In an unfathomable, indescribable way that she was. Call me cheesy and gay but when a man knows, a man knows. That this woman was better than any other woman.

My seventeen-year-old younger sister, Natalie who was just starting her college years on a university in Paris, France would always ask me how did dad knew that he was going to end up marrying mom one day. When a man knows, a man knows. I told her and she simply didn't get it.

I am neither a love expert or a philosopher but women are complicated creatures. You give them love, and it wasn't love for them. They wanted men to figure all the things for them, looking for the answers they could have known if they look closely into it. Women have the tendencies to dig deeper, men simply go with the current. We looked into the superficial side of things and we simply don't go into details because we like surprises and women hates them. Dating, for example. A woman will go to a date with someone she knew very well. Her bestfriend, perhaps because she knew him in and out. She knew his quirks, his fears, his ambitions, when he will fart and the list goes on. Men goes on a date with a woman simply because she is interesting. He saw her inside a recording store, strike up a conversation and he's interested! For me, marrying your bestfriend doesn't seem to do the trick. A bestfriend is a bestfriend. The opposite of yourself and that should stay as it is. Imagine I marry Georgina. She was sexy and beautiful and a great lay (coming from Zeke, not me.) yet I knew that she burped too loud during formal meals. That was funny and at the same time, a great turn off.

"You're spacing out again, man." Kobe commented, handing me another paper cup. I forgot that I was standing here on the poolside watching Zeke dance with Allison until she said something to him and walked out to the far end corner of the room where a mini bar stood. I stared at her hungrily, at her firm round ass and milky legs that felt smooth in my palms while my colleagues kept on wolf whistling and rating every girl who passed by. Earlier, they had given Carly a score of three and she glared at every single one of us before sauntering back to the dance floor, Renee and Kaitlyn (their new brainless recruit), tailing after her.

All the time I was watching her while I goof around trying to enjoy the party. My eyes narrowed into slits as a man approached her. Not the bartender but a different man. Someone I hadn't seen at school. He wore black leather jackets and black leather pants along with black leather boots. He was tall and big and his head was shaved at the sides making him look like a big bad bully. I shrugged continuing my watch and thinking that maybe it was his fashion or something of the sort. So far, he hasn't made a move to touch her.

My eyes wandered to where Allison left Zeke but he was nowhere to be seen. My gaze went back to her and her unwelcomed admirer before I realized that I don't want other men admiring her. Jesus, I must be drunk.

I stood up, sashaying a bit.

"You okay man?" someone asked. That was Joey. He has the tendency to ask every member of the team if they were okay. Must be a habit or something.

"Yeah." I said a little too loud, starting to wobble towards the mini bar. Allison's back was turned to me and I really can't see her face. The man, however looked apologetic.

I plopped down one of the stools and motioned the bartender to give me the usual. I knew Casey way back since middle school. He was apparently the son of some rich folks he got but was disinherited recently because he refused to be taken on the family company. He did a little bartending back then and he was very good at the job. Not that he needs it though. He slid me my usual martini which I acknowledged with a slight nod. I downed it with a single gulp and proceeded to my eavesdropping business.
