Stairs crumble, weeds flourish
Steep, uneven hill
You readily ascend it
Staying at a dead paceFog settles, breathing slows
Dewy, mouldy air
You gulp it down
Intoxicating your lungsFloors decay, walls deteriorate
Grimy, old house
You enter through a broken door
Falling into an threadbare roomEmpty rooms, echoing halls
Dusty, untouched dwelling
You disturb the haunting peace
Settling down on cold groundShadows linger, breaths dissipate
Dark, stormy thoughts
You soon drift into a sleep
Never to wake again.

Shadowy Dreams Beyond the Wind
PoetryA poem that I had to write for a school assignment. Wrote at 12am the night before it was due, and the title was from a random title generator. The cover pic was the inspiration for the poem.
