Shadowy dreams beyond the wind

Stairs crumble, weeds flourish
Steep, uneven hill
You readily ascend it
Staying at a dead pace

Fog settles, breathing slows
Dewy, mouldy air
You gulp it down
Intoxicating your lungs

Floors decay, walls deteriorate
Grimy, old house
You enter through a broken door
Falling into an threadbare room

Empty rooms, echoing halls
Dusty, untouched dwelling
You disturb the haunting peace
Settling down on cold ground

Shadows linger, breaths dissipate
Dark, stormy thoughts
You soon drift into a sleep
Never to wake again.
