Frostbite shook herself from the frightening memory. That was so long ago... how long had it actually been? 4 years? 5? She was pretty sure it had been 5, now that she was 9 years old, almost 10.

She looked back at the fish and picked it up carefully, as if she expected the dead MudWing to jump out of the fish's mouth and start strangling her with inhuman strength.

She went back to her temporary cave and got some dry grass, dry pine wood sticks, and one, big special stick. She piled up the grass and made a crappy teepee with the sticks on top of it. She then put the special stick in the grass, and started twirling it vigorously. The grass started to smoke, and as she gently blew on it, a fire came to life and started to grow, consuming the sticks. She picked up a stick and started sharpening it with her claws. About 15 minutes later, the big fish was skewered on the sharpened stick and almost done roasting above the fire.

She slipped it off the stick and started chewing on it.

¨Hmm...¨ she said thoughtfully, ¨Not bad. Could use a bit more flavor, but other than that, I like it.¨

After she finished eating the fish she shuddered, stuck out her tongue and said ¨The way I like being sick. Which I hate. I am never EVER eating fish again, no matter HOW desperate I am.¨

She went outside, got some leaves, came back inside, made a bed, curled up and went to sleep.

The next morning, Frostbite got up and threw away the sticks from the fire all over the forest. She didn't want anyone following her or knowing she was there, even if they didn't know it was specifically her. If they knew they had an intruder in their territory, they would freak out, increase patrols, and she would never be able to go anywhere near the kingdom for a good while. It happened before, it could (and probably will happen) again.

Frostbite flew around the kingdom with her scales camouflaged, seeing if she could find any new place to rest when the time came. At one point she got kind of close to the sky palace. She saw SkyWings swarming the place like a big honey bee nest in the middle of summer. She got a little curious and flew a little closer. When she did, a SkyWing must have seen something that indicated a dragon was there because he shot a huge ball of fire so close to her that it almost hit her. She looked at it passed her, then looked back at the SkyWing who was sprinting at her at top speed. She was so surprised that a little bit of color got onto her scales which rarely happened. She turned around, and sprinted all the way across the SkyWing territory until she reached the Kingdom of Sand.

The sun was high in the sky as she flew over the sandy land that many SandWings call home. The sky was clear and the heat was ruthless. She hadn't felt so hot ever in her entire life. The sand went up and down in dramatic hills like the ocean in a storm, but without the storm and the water replaced with never ending sand that could make you go insane if you stared at it for a week straight and never took your eyes off of it.

Also, the nice soothing noise of the waves was replaced with eerie stillness that made you want to scream until your voice died just so you don't start hearing voices.

Also, if you took the coolness in the air and replaced it with blistering heat, that was how the desert felt.

Frostbite had to admit, the sun felt wonderful on her scales. Like she was blanketed in a heavy silk blanket, laying beside a cozy fire, eating all the sheep and cows and grapes and pineapples you could ever want.

She looked around to make sure no one was watching and when she was absolutely sure no one was around, she lit up her scales and had them change to every color she was holding back before. She mostly had yellow and pink going through her scales, but she also had purple, green, orange, red, white, and even a little various shades of blue here and there. She looked down at her scales and saw something odd.
