I sat at my desk looking at the last case I had been on. I glanced at one of the windows and saw it was heavily snowing. I thought to myself, "How long have I been sitting here?" and I glanced at my watch, and saw it was 7:45 PM.
I closed the case file, turned off my computer, grabbed my purse, coat, hat and gloves. Suddenly my unit cheif's door opened, I looked over my shoulder to see Aaron Hotchner step out of his office with his coat and brief case. He looked at me and stated "Well, you're here late Lubov." I sighed and answered "Yeah, I just can't stop thinking about the last case from a couple of weeks ago.." Hotch replied by saying "well Lubov, I understand but, we just have to put the cases behind us." I nodded and pressed the elevator button and Hotch placed his brief case on the ground to put his coat on. The doors opened and Hotch and I stood in the elevator silently, when the doors opened, Hotch interrupted the awkward silence bye saying "Good Night Lubov, see you tomorrow!" As he walked away. "Good night hatch!" I yelled back.
I walked in the unplowed snow in my shoes that weren't made for the snow, and I started to run to my car when I could feel the cold snow melt into my socks. I unlocked my car and got in to what felt like an even colder car and closed the door and immediately turned the car on to blast the heater. I leaned back in relief as I felt the hot air hit my cold face, and drove home to my apartment. The traffic was slow because of the heavy snow.
Once I arrived, I quickly ran inside the building, since it felt like it had gotten colder outside, I walked up the stairs and walked quickly to my door. I stumbled looking through my keys trying to figure out which key was my apartment key. I thought to myself "I need to go through my keys and organize them.." I eventually found the right key and I opened my door and heard my door alarm go off, I turned the light on, closed the door, and put in the code to turn off the alarm. I put my purse down on the entryway table and locked the door. I took off my hat, gloves, and coat and put it on the coat hooks next to the door. I walked to the bathroom to take off my shoes and socks to let them dry. I changed my clothes, poured myself a glass of wine to drink and headed off to bed early.
