Taking it all in

I Woke with a start and tried to remember my dream, as a young girl I had always been taught to try to remember my dreams. Tonight it seemed that I had no dreams at all. But then I remembered where I was. I'd forgotten that I was in heaven and I thought probably there were no dreams here if there are barely any thoughts.

I was hungry so I decided to call my keeper. As I called him he came right to me. "Yes, what can I do for you?" he said Deep raspy voice. I answered " may you please get me some food". "What would you like," he said, but his voice got softer. " I have choices?" I was confused. When I was in the other world it was what you got, and you don't throw a fit. "Of course there are choices," he said with a chuckle. "Ummm," I said. "Maybe some warm stew. "At your service," He said and hopped away.

I had never got a choice of food, so I was pretty amazed. I always had the dreaded thought of dying, but it actually might be better than the other world. As the keeper came back and brought my food, I smiled as he gave me a thumbs-up, and walked away. I ate my porridge, and it warmed my mouth with its creamy texture. I then walked by a river and gasped.

Last night, I had not noticed all the strange folk. There were millions, and they all seemed to be from different worlds. I never thought that there was more than one world. As I walked down, I saw more strange folk. Some of them were friendly, but one punched me and walked away. Mean! I then started going on a run. Something I had always done when I was confused. Colors flashed by me, and everything seemed to be moving super fast. But that was what it was always like when you went on a run.

I  went back to my safe place, also know as my bed. Instead of having chores in the morning, I had nothing to do, and for once in my life I felt bored. Boredom was not a thing in my family, I always had something to do. If I was not doing anything, I was punished. Some people like having nothing to do, but I always wanted to do something, I liked working, and being pushed harder. Once my mom said that if I did not obey God, then I would  go to hell. At first this seemed a little extreme to me, but now I could see that she was probably right. As I was thinking about life and death questions, I laid down to sleep my second night, wondering if I was just having a long confusing dream.
