The main character of the story named is a very religious guy and is of age 16. His name is Silas and the story begins with him in front of his mothers grave. She was just recently just involved in a random act of murder. As Silas begins to think of all the bad things humans have done on the Earth such as daily killings, the Holocaust, Slavery, Constant wars he truly sees how despicable the human world is. As he starts to leave the cemetery he notices that there is a white gate in the back of the all the tombstones that he had not noticed before. He wonders what it is and how it got there and he starts to head over to it. He is then sucked into it and is brought to a word filled with spirits floating around. He is not fazed at all but actually walks toward where there is a bright light. As he makes it to the bright light he cannot see for a couple of seconds and then when he regains his vision in front of him is some sort of unknown man that is wearing a mask that has a crow drawn on it. The man also has a crown on his shoulder. He then discusses with him how the world has changed into some travesty that can never be changed. He then tells him he is the savior of the world and must cleanse it. He teaches him how to steal souls by touching people in the chest. Silas sees this as a calling from God and accepts it. The man with the crow mask then nods his head then touches Silas in the chest and send him back to Earth. With a new agenda in mind he originally decides to cleanse the world of people who defy God and Atheists, but his new found power leaves him hungry for more souls. So he is forced to steal souls every single day even if the people do not Defy God.
