Ava and I paid for our lunches and headed outside. We sat down by ourselves and started to eat.

"Ugh I hate it here." Ava groaned "Do you ever think of if you had been born into another life? Like if we had grown up in Hawaii and our biggest problem was finding a bikini that matched our surfboard?"

I grinned, "I'd take that life any day Ava." Ava and I looked like we could have lived on a Hawaiian beach. We both had wavy blond hair, blue/green eyes, and slightly tanned skin. Unfortunately, we were still stuck at school.

Crystal came outside surrounded by her crew of populars. The sat down at the table next to us and I could hear them snickering and whispering. I looked over and sure enough they were pointing and laughing at us.

"Come on Ava, lets go before this gets worse." We stood up to leave, but Crystal clearly wasn't done with us. One of her friends got up to throw her stuff away as well, and she tripped spilling her juice all over Ava's shirt. It was so cliché.

"Oops, sorry I didn't see you there." She flashed a fake apologetic smile and sat back down at the table that was roaring with laughter.

Ava had already ran away and I figured I'd have to go find her. First I had to avenge her though. I pulled out a pen from my backpack and went over to Crystal. I broke the pen in half and let the black ink drip down her white shirt.

"Goes with your heart." I informed her as I grabbed my stuff and headed to go fin Ava. I couldn't help but notice that a group of hot guys were looking from me to Crystal grinning like maniacs.

"Hey. That was brilliant." said one of the guys. He had dark brown hair, huge brown eyes, and pale skin. "And, uh, your friend ran that way." he said gesturing to the restroom.

"Thanks." I said as I flashed him a grin and set out to get Ava.

No way was someone going to hurt my friend and get away with it unharmed.
