I close the front door behind me. I take a minute to realise what has just happened. I'm so glad Louis came over. When he came over, I felt better. Protected. Comfortable. I shiver as I start walking down the street, not knowing where to go. I reach into my coat pocket and pull out my phone to call a taxi.
"Y/n!" I hear a voice shout behind me. I turn to see Louis's face glowing from the street light above. "Wait!" He yells and runs up to me. Our eyes lock as he stands a few centimetres away from me. I can feel his warm breath against my cheeks. "I just want to say thank you."
"No, I need to thank you. If it wasn't for you, I'd still be in that uncomfortable position." I tell him.
"You should let him treat you like that-"
"Do you think I wanted him to touch me?" I'm offended. I get that he is trying to help but it's like he thinks I'm not aware. Like I'm stupid. I roll my eyes. I start to walk off and he grabs my elbow.
"Sorry. That's not what I meant. Know your worth. That's all I ask of you. Don't think that you can't say no."
"You're telling me this as if I was born yesterday. I know what consent is."
"Then why didn't you stop him?"
I stand there in silence. The wind blows in my face, pulling my hair back. He's right. Maybe I'm being too harsh on him.
"I'm just trying to protect you. But if you don't need it then I'll leave." He starts to walk away. As I see him trail off, I feel myself wanting to be around him. I don't want to lose this guy. He's a gentleman and he was just trying to be there for me.
"Louis! You're right." I shout and he turns around and gives a soft smile. "I guess I'm just being defensive because I feel as though I'm not strong enough." I put my head down and Louis strolls over.
"Don't be silly. I mean I don't know you very well but from what I've seen tonight. I think you're a pretty strong girl." Louis comforts me.
I look at him in the eyes "How?"
"You stuck up to a roadman for God's sake. I mean not many people could do that y/n. And not only that but you did it for a stranger you just met. If that isn't being strong then I don't know what is."
I smile "I returned a favour. You helped me and I helped you."
"Exactly" he puts his warm hand on my shoulder "Don't put yourself down y/n."
I blush. He is so sweet. His hand leaves my shoulder, and he pulls out his phone from his jean pocket. I take a second to admire his outfit. He's wearing blue denim jeans, a sweater and white Nike air force ones. Very nice. His pretty face lights up as he taps the screen a few times. He looks up and our eyes connect. "I'm going home. Where are you going?" He asks me.
"I'm not sure. I mean I might go back to the hotel room... Shit. I think Grace has the key to our room." I place my hands on my head.
"Don't stress. Why don't you come to mine for a bit?"
"Really?"
"Yeah why not? My parents won't be in. They're out of London for the week. My sisters are in. You can stay until your friend is back."
"Oh my god. Thank you. I'll let Grace know." I text Grace as he orders a taxi.
Me: Grace. I'm going to a guy called Louis's house for a while as I think you have the key. Let me know when you're there. Love you xx
The taxi pulls up and we get in. This is exciting.
