Emily was happy that her procurer, Nancy, was able to find a boy so quickly, Thanksgiving was coming and there was much to do.
She strode into the room and hugged Nancy, placing a peck on each cheek.
"So this is him?" Emily's question rhetorical.
"Yes. Orphan. A bit thin, but there is plenty of time."
Emily glanced over, smiling at the boy.
"Yes. He will need fattening up." she turned back to Nancy "What's his name?"
"Tommy," answered Nancy with a wry smile "like Tom Turkey".
Emily turned to the boy "You look like you could do with some food, Tommy. I'm Emily. You're my boy now."
Tommy stood from the couch where he sat quietly, "Thank you, miss..."
"Emily. You may call me Miss Emily. How does corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, and a big glass of milk sound, Tommy?"
