it's homecoming night. i stepped out of my comfort zone. this year is different. i usually wear flowy dresses; ones that don't hug my body. this year, senior year, i wanted to be bold. i asked the boy i liked what dress i should wear. of course he picked one that hugged my body. this was my year. i was excited, yet when i got there, everything changed.

i could care less about the boy i liked. he never paid attention to me anyways. did i deserve that ? maybe i did, or maybe i didn't. maybe it was for the best. of course it was. everything happens for a reason right ?

we still aren't friends. merely just associated with those that are. i watched you make out with one of my good friends. how gross. i bet you don't even like her like that. just a heat of the moment i guess.

every year after hoco, we go to ihop. a tradition i started back freshmen year. you came with us. i didn't think much of it, you were best friends with my guy best friend. you sat across from me. we talked. it was nice. we talked like we knew each other. like we've been friends the whole time. you noticed me shivering, and gave me your sweater, causing my friend you made out with to pout. i didn't care. i was warm.

you promised me you'd drive safe.
