Zoey POV
The jagged and shattering alarm clock of the death knell of a lavish sleep goes off and I'm not even ready for school. I got ready quickly and got my uniform on.
"Zoey, hurry up, you don't have time to be sleeping!"Mom shouted from below. I went downstairs and did the usual, half asleep and barely can lift the spoon. I got my shoes on and ran out the door. I was so late, Rose was probably already in school. Same as Mimi and Megan. I took a deep breath and pushed open the door. As it swung shut behind me, all eyes looked straight at me. The teacher wasn't even here yet, thank god!
"Zoey," Megan said, as I sat down at my desk.
"So tired," I said, flopping myself on the desk and falling asleep.
"Zoey, the teacher is here"whispered Mimi and the whole class sat down. I sat up and gazed into the sky.
"Jessica Carrick?" the teacher said
"Here," Jessica shouted from behind. Names kept coming until it came to Mimi.
"Mimi"?
"Here"
"Megan?"
"Here"
"Zoey"?
"Here, "I said, smiling.
"I see that you are finally on time, keep it up," she said looking at me. Ugh, how embarrassing, the time I was late. This is what happened
I took a deep breath and pushed open the door. As it swung shut behind me, every eye in the room turned my way.
"Would you mind telling me why you are so late"
Everyone in the class is staring at me with pity. They all know how strict this teacher is.
I bit my lip, I suck at excuses, "I had a late night last night (actually, I was batting aliens) and slept in" I mumble.
The teacher sighs.
"Don't let me catch you walking into my class late again!"
I nod and walk to my desk, my face bright red. I can hear people whispering behind me in low voices. Rose eyed me, she looked like she was giving a potion to stay awake, my eyes were hanging out of my head.
"Rose?"
"Zoey, Rose is absent today," Megan said from behind me. I turned to her desk and found it empty. That's odd, normally Rose would be here, with me.
After school
I walked in, Corina gazing at Renee, Bridget reading a book and Kiki, well you know, doing tricks. I went into the kitchen and started washing up.
"What's up to Zoe, did your cat ears an tail pop out again?"Corina asked
"Couldn't tell yeah"I muttered, putting the plate on the side. I dried up the wet cutlery and stuff and put them away. I went out of the kitchen, greeting Bridget and Kiki who was wiping the table.
"Eh, Zoey, where's Rose?"Renee asked, crossing her arms.
"She wasn't at school today, "I said, thinking.
"Then she mustn't be coming to work either," Kiki said. I sighed and sighed even more.
"OH, WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO ACT STRANGE THEN NOT TURN UP FOR SCHOOL!"I shouted, crying and crying. Then the front door opened and I stopped and froze. OH NO, SHE HEARD ME, SHE'S GOING TO GIVE OUT TO ME!!!!
